Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 was by far one of the greatest days. It by no means could have gotten any better than it did. If ever a day cold be called perfect, it would be this one! I made one of my many summer trips to Atlanta for the Panic! at the Disco concert.
First off..I have somehow aquired a friend (something that I don't do often) that is just awesome and brings new meaning to "they don't make 'em like that anymore". (Fee, I love ya girl!
) Anyway..I'll have to keep this short w/o too many details cause perfection is hard to describe.
We got to the venue early enough that we were pretty close to front of the line, although there were at least 30 people in front of us including a group of friends who were patiently waiting at 4:30 for a show that didn't start until 7:30. This was an awesome bunch of ladies that we quickly clicked with. Before long we were all laughing and chatting about just about anything.
Before long we were discussing our bands future, but I won't go into that!
Soon the Panic! security was coming down the line telling everyone that it was ok to bring in camera's. Excellent! So off I went to the car to get my baby. Only to find out later that my camera is considered professional and not allowed. WTF??
So all in all..I returned it to the car.
The show started and I will say listening to the Hush Sound perform..I well..I wanted to go to sleep..so I was kinda wishing they would HUSH! OK-GO was better, but everyone was waiting on Panic.
At this point, the Mosh Pit was getting out of hand and it was hot and I just couldn't tolerate it anymore. We bid our new friends farewell and ventured around until we found the golden seats that were somehow reserved just for us it seemed! Front row balcony. It was just like being in the front of the pit w/o 300 people pushing on you!
Panic came on along with the guests from Lucent Dossier who put on a kick ass show. The vibe could be felt through out the entire building. The energy from the fellas and the crowd was amazing. These guys are around to stay for sure!
After the show, we went and got my camera from the car and went to wait around the buses with hopes of at least a glance of the guys before they left. Within 30 mins or so..security came out and annouced that they guys would be out and would only be signing one item per person.
These guys really know how to treat there supporters. I will give them that. They are humble, silly and pretty down to earth. When they reached us..they each signed whatever item you wanted, plus gave plenty of hugs and let you snap photo's of them. When they got to us..we of course got the autographs and requested a quick shot with Brendon.
The same awesome security guy (standing next to Spence) made the announcement that only we could take a pic with Urie cause I couldn't take my camera in. This guy is awesome. I wish I knew who he was!!
So we snapped our pic and laughed with the guys briefly and just like that..we were done. Headed up to cloud 10..that would be slightly higher than 9!
After that, we floated on over to IHOP for some grub and finally in for some rest. This trip couldn't have been any better..just not possible. There are few bands that actually perform..but these guys are an act to follow!
