emily is at work, so this is a good opportunity to dick around online instead of doing dishes.
i'm currently in new haven, connecticut.
i'll backtrack a few days.
thursday: got picked up from work by tommy, zack, and treasures. headed down to Lake Worth for a cult ritual show at some dance studio. we expected it to be a total bust, but it was surprisingly fun. the guys in the first band put on the show, and they were very cool and supportive. all the other bands sucked, though.
after that we drove to naples and proceeded to get hassled by police officers in a walgreen's parking lot with chris donaldson and his girlfriend. drove through the night and got back to tampa to unload gear. ate mashed potato(e)s at trevor's house and subsequently got dropped off at the airport.
friday was a long day of traveling.
delay after delay after delay lead to me hanging at the atlanta airport for about six hours.
it was such a relief to finally arrive in new york city.
the past few days have been awesome.
did a lot of exploring in new york city on saturday.
ate italian ice in little italy.
was offered weed by a bootleg perfume salesman.
awful, awful, windy rain most of the day.
got lots of good food and good books.
watched Thurston Moore and Byron Coley talk about their new no-wave book at a record store.
only around twenty people showed up.
new york baffles me.
anyway, i asked them how big their record collections were and they said "the biggest." then Thursty made some comment about selling all his records and only listening to tapes.
it was a pretty cool happening, and i got my book signed.
hung out with pat shields yesterday, which was a lot of fun.
we always seem to pick up right where we left off, even without talking to each other for about a year.
went to a bunch of music stores.
i bought a guitar for $30. it rules. i hope i don't have any problems getting it on the plane.
yesterday was me and emily's four-year anniversary.
it was a pretty lazy day, after two exhausting new york adventures.
i was only awake for a few hours.
we made food and drank a lot of wine.
it was very sweet and i miss her already this morning.
i'm not looking forward to flying back on wednesday.
