More4 is
planning on dropping the nightly repeats of 'The Daily Show', instead showing only the weekly round-up Global Edition. For shame. And not just for cutting me off from my John Oliver access. It is one of very few non-repeat type shows on the channel, and it is bloody good.
It was extraordinary television. Stewart has been agitating for weeks over the Republican decision to block the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 - they are refusing to consider any legislation until a tax cut for the rich is passed - which would give compensation to 9/11 first responders now suffering from all manner of ills owing to days upon days spent breathing in gack, sifting through rubble. No other news station, bar a small spot on MSNBC, seemed interested in covering it. So he got together a round table of the self-professed American patriots, the firemen & police officers, who went down there to help; stayed to help. And are now suffering in all sorts of ways because of it.
A scabrous snide lil comedy show, the only ones to tackle this. Holding all the dirty laundry up to the light so we can see what stains besmear them. To be retained, thankyou please.
Oh and yes, I have
said this to More4 as well. Am not presuming you, dear reader, are my conduit to the station.
