read lj reviews of this book I read a review of this book a few years ago in a magazine, rushed out and purchased it and it's been on my bookshelf ever since, well I finally got around to reading it.
In short, a girl one day sets up a video camera pointing at the river, removes all her clothes and walks into the river and simply drowns, all this caught on video. Benny Poteat a tower worker views this seen from the distance, rushes over to the scene to find the girl gone with only the video and it's tape, her clothes, some other video cassettes and a business card left behind. He's now torn between going to the police with his find or viewing the mysterious tapes himself and trying to uncover the mystery of the drowned girl.
It's a dark and humorous tale, one which leads Tom Poteat into a relationship with the drowned girls sister which in turn leads to conflicting feelings, does he reveal his secret to Becky and her family who are frantic with worry or does he keep silent?
An interesting idea for a book, the one drawback is sometimes the language is a little colorful, it was borderline as whether to carry on reading or not, so for that reason alone I wouldn't recommend this book, and now looking back as it was 'borderline' perhaps I should have discontinued reading it.
