Every time I join one of those "support" groups, the same thing happens: they tell you, "share your story, come on, you can do it" ... but then, when you do, even when you emblazon trigger warnings all over the place so much that a three year old would know not to go there if they would be triggered --
-someone is triggered and freaks out
-you get snarky replies
-the mods edit your posts, saying they are "too graphic" (when no body parts were mentioned or even implied)
-no one replies at all with 43453785457 views (ok, that was an exaggeration)
-suddenly all your posts aren't answered anymore and you get the idea it's better if you go
I think support groups are for people who want to pretend that there really isn't bad out there. They just want people to say "there there" to their angst. If they really were interested in helping people get well then they wouldn't censor them when they actually tell their stories.
