Ok folks. I am now at week 29. Which means October 24th is only 11 weeks away! Thats sorta getting close!
I went for my 28 wk appt on Aug 3rd. I gained weight (11 friggin pounds of weight!) and the Dr and Nutritionalist are happy so I'm happy I don't have them on my case anymore. Babies heart rate was at 142 fbs and it's measuring up to size.
Got schedualled for an ultrasound for Aug 4th, 2005. Mike cannot go because he's working (which I understand now) so my mom and his mom went. Baby is doing VERY well and is a little show off!!! They are guessing the weight to be about 2 lbs 11 oz (give or take 6 oz) and the heart rate was at 138 fbs. It kept showing its feet and hands and was sucking on its thumb (or fist) while the exam was going on. It also was kicking me on my left side so when she scanned over my whole belly, we found out the baby is in the Transverse position. It's head is on my right side and it's feet are on my left (one of it's feet are in my ribs right now lol). The whole exam was about 30-40 mins and my mom and Judy couldn't be in the room for it. When the exam part was done, the tech brought them in the room and was showing them everything. The lady said, "Well, lets see what this little one is." and then my SON proceeded to roll over and spread HIS legs and showed HIMSELF to everyone. So: "It's A Boy!~" Yeah I was a little bummed because I don't get my lil Riley Jaden but I got my Kaleb James. He was so proud of himself lol. The tech said thats the most obvious boy she's ever seen. They can't tell all the time with most people but my son was definatly a boy. Mike's thrilled and so is everyone else.
I got all my bloodwork done on Saturday. That was one boring day to be at the hospital. I got there at 11:30 and had to get registerd. Then I waited for about 10 mins till the lab tech came out and got me. I got 3 tubes of blood out (didn't feel the needle! Yay me) and had to drink this nasty flat orange pop tasting stuff in 5 mins and wait an hour (w/o drinking water or pop, eating or smoking- which I don't do anyway). I was soooooooooooooo thirsty and wanted that taste out of my mouth so bad. After the hour I had to get 1 more tube of blood out (that one hurt cuz she used the same damn arm as the first time). I was aloud to go and eat while I waited for the Dr and the RhoGam shot. I went to the snack bar/cafateria and ate lunch and went back to wait for the dr. I got sick of waiting so I pressed the button on the door (since I was the only person waiting out there) and they said he'd be out in a few minutes. When he finally came out, he explained what the shot was for (since I'm RH - and the baby could be RH+...blah blah blah). Got the shot (which I didn't even feel btw lol) and left for home. I was happy to get the hell out of that hospital. I was soooooo bored! I bet Mike was too because he was there for the entire 3 hours that I was there for. He must of read all the magazines and everything while we were there.
Here's the developement in the 29th week:

You are 29 Weeks Pregnant!
WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOU
Aches and pains may become bothersome as your uterus grows and the joints of the pelvis begin to loosen in preparation for delivery. It's easy to acquire back problems if you allow yourself to slump when sitting or standing. Don't stop exercising. Walking (or swimming) is important and can make you feel more energetic. Exercises designed for strengthening the abdominal muscles, which support the back, can help. After the fourth month of pregnancy, you should avoid exercising while lying on your back, according to recent guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Your baby may be up all night and asleep all day. This may mean less uninterrupted snooze time for you during the next 11 weeks, but doesn't necessarily mean your baby will be a night owl after birth. Your baby now weighs two pounds, nine ounces (MY SON'S BIGGER!!! LOL) and is 13 1/2 inches long. The crown-to-rump measurement, which may be slightly more accurate than length estimates, is about 26 centimeters.

Melissa, a ParentsPlace.com community member, offers this healthy recipe that boosts nutrients and fiber ... all before lunch!
Four Grain Pancakes
3/4 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose unbleached flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/3 cup quick-cooking oats
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
2 cups buttermilk*
1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
2 eggs, beaten (or egg substitute)
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. In large bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix until large lumps disappear. Batter will be thick. For thinner pancakes, add a little water. Heat skillet or griddle to 375 degrees. Grease lightly with oil, (or spray if preferred). For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup batter into hot skillet. Cook two-and-one-half to three minutes. Turn when edges look cooked and bubbles begin to break on surface. Continue to cook two to two-and-one-half minutes or until golden brown. (Whole-grain batters are thicker and take a little longer to cook. Make sure you accurately gauge pan temperature and check the middle for doneness.) Serve with syrup(yogurt or applesauce are healthful alternatives) and garnish with fresh fruit of choice. ALso good with berries and whipped cream!
This recipe makes 16 (four-inch) pancakes or eight (five-inch) waffles.
* To substitute for buttermilk, use 2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice plus milk to equal two cups.
FACT OF THE WEEK
Pitocin, a drug used to help speed up labor, is used in one-third of all births. Pitocin has a reputation of causing hard labor from the onset. Why is this? Pitocin causes regular, frequent contractions from the start, so, unlike natural labor, a woman has no "warm-up." It's important that a doctor, midwife or nurse be with you at all times to monitor your reaction to the drug. Since it is administered through an IV drip, the amount can be altered depending upon your response.
