OOC - A long due State of the Muse post.
Unlike King Arthur, the Loch Ness monster and global warming, Shawn's livejournal being active is not a myth, it's something I intend to do despite hiatuses, school kicking my ass and having somewhat of a real life.
And it was about time for a "state of the muse" post, wasn't it? :D
If anyone other than det_lassiter still reads the journal, you guys should be aware that my Shawn follows more or less the canon of the show. Except for one big turn in the plot that we all knew would eventually happen and I'm not talking about a weirdass shiny hole in the center of the island. Wrong show there.
Shawn's main verse is what Lassie's mun has dubbed the [Porcurpine Chi Verse] which you'll see tagged all over Lassiter's journal. It has an icon and all, yo! [Porcupine Chi Verse] runs in time with the show except for some teeny tiny differences: back in what was sometime around season two or three, Shawn and Lassiter started a relationship which our dear fake psychic dubbed as a [fuckship]. "Fuck buddies", "Fuck Puppets", "Can of Peppers I get out of the Fridge When There's Nothing Better to Eat". You get the idea.
Later on Carlton started showing signs of wanting to change their relationship to something closer than a "Friendly Wiener Warmer". Unfortunately, compromise is one of Shawn's biggest pet peeves and as sexually open as he seems committing to a man isn't something he's comfortable enough to face yet. Then he and Abigail reconnected and Shawn tried to prove to himself he could indeed have a stable relationship, that he wasn't being a closeted case and he had moved on from whatever he and the detective had...
And scene!
Now, I have nothing against canon or pairing up Shawn with any Jules that's up to play and follow the canon, in fact I'd love it for a Jules to pop up to play! Same goes for other Lassies, Gus and muses from any fandoms or originals.
Most of Shawn's threads will be set in [Porcupine Chi Verse] which means I'm too lazy to tag at this point; stories following events from the canon that would crash said verse like a meteorite killed dinosaurs, will be tagged as such. I mean, [Shules] or something, I'm not making a meteor killing dinosaurs tag.... As tempting as it is right now.
Making the story short, which sounds silly at this point, the journal follows the story in which Shawn has memories of making sweet, sweet love to Detective Dipstick. If something big involving Shawn and Jules happens in the show and I feel like writing about it or suddenly in canon Shawn and Gus adopt a child, then I'll put a tag to specify that.
