Insomnia-Part 5-Vacation Day 2-At the Beach

Sep 01, 2006 23:32

When Cameron woke up the next afternoon, the after burn of deep dish pizza and rocky road ice cream gurgled a bit at the back of her throat. It had been a long time since she had gorged herself on junk food.
Last night had been surreal. House had brought back a small stack of horror movies on DVD which were still in their cellophane, which had ( Read more... )

Thank you so much...! diagnosticmad September 3 2006, 19:24:42 UTC
I worked on this chapter for about two straight days...I wrote it all down in a notebook and then spent about five hours on editing it and putting it together for live journal...I'm out of a job for the moment so I have plenty of time at least.

I think I am writing the next chapter today since I am so eager to see how Wilson is going to handle the whole situation...

This is cute, and I like the give and take and House's bribing of the burger-stand kid. However...Princeton is like an hour's drive from the beach. It's on the wrong side of NJ to have an ocean. That aside, however, it's a great chapter and a fun story.

And I thought this whole story was air tight...I figured they were closer to the ocean than that...you are totally right...I should have researched that...maybe a lake? I will maybe go back and give it a second look...thanks so much for pointing that out...(I am clearly not world travelled as I would like to be :(

Sorry, I didn't mean to be such a downer. According to Mapquest, Carnegie Lake is right near Princeton. It's described as a big place for rowers and fishers, so it could work for your story without having to change TOO much.

And hey, most world travelers would turn up their noses at the very THOUGHT of visiting NJ. It's my inner history teacher that freaks about the geography. [BTW, don't ever have them fly to NYC. ;)] Don't sweat the small stuff.

Oh I don't think my geography is that far off...From what I understood NJ isn't far away from NY so I figured the ocean wasn't too far away...but I didn't really think about the location of Princeton much in terms of that...but the good news is I already implemented your changes...I called it a lake...and now that I have a name...thanks to my expert geographer...I shall implement the change...!

Okay. So... I just recently had a pizza/movie night with a couple friends, and we stayed up watching Creepshow. It was awesome to see you include that in this chapter.

House!the person is getting a lot of air time in this story. I like that a lot. I felt really weird for Cameron in her rollerblade gear. It's hilarious to try to imagine. And House with ear plugs on the beach? My goodness, that was funny. Great. Just great. They're real people; you're doing an excellent job of showing it.

Ok. Scratch that. Not the beach - the sand. Either way...it was funny.
