Habitat and Drag Queens...

Feb 26, 2006 20:02

So, this last week has been just like the last few. Lots of work, not much time, stress.. yada yada yada.

Actually this week was harder than the most, because of the Club Fair and basically sucking in JAVA and needing extra help. It wouldn't be so bad, but the class has 3 people.. including me.. so if any of us are behind, the whole class has to wait. But whatev... Then other random shit has been going on that I really don't feel like talking about.  So yea.

Friday we went out to the mall and Starbucks.. and came back and that was prety much it. I called Tony because it was his birthday (29!!) and he was really happy to hear from me. Likewise it was good to talk to him. Talked to mom today and apparently I made his night, so thats good. He's doing a lot better too, he got some money for his birthday, tax returns, and a call from his sister, so his spirits are up! Apparently they are starting to call him Smily again at work. He's gunna be just fine. Hopefully I'll get to see him this summer. ((I'm sad I'm gunna miss his 30th next year, so I'm hoping to make it up this summer))

Then Saturday. well that was an eventfull time!!

Well, Saturday morning, Summer and I got up to drive out to Habitat. Summer wasn't going to go at first, but she ended up coming :) yay! We couldn't find it at first because I'm stupid and turned down Melrose instead of Salem Turn Pike... and we got there at like 10 (when we left at 8:45 and its about 20 min away at MAX) But we got there, and there were TONS of people there. So they sent us outside for a project. We brushed/dusted off the foundation and then got to paint it. JOY!  Haha, I swear painting should be my part-time job. If college doesn't work out, I'll start up a professional painting busness.

I'm hot... especially with that paint under my eye...

Eventually we got inside and got to hang some sheet rock. Frances was really cute, because she discovered she loves to hammer and was going at it like crazy!! None of the two girls we brought with us (Frances and Brittany) had been to a build before, so it was fun to talk to them and see how excited they were about doing this.  :) I really like Habitat.

After we got back I got to talk to Brandon online. YAY!!! I love that boy... :-D  Did a little homework after that before Summer and I went out to  meet Mark and eat at Bella's. That was pretty good food, but the service was kinda slow for it being so small. Mark is nice, but he's SOO quiet. I may talk fast, but he does talk slow too! Haha, anyways.

After that Summer, Abbie and I went to Roanoke College for a Drag Queen show. The proceeds went to something for the prevention of AIDS, so it was a good cause.  They handed out a huge package of condoms and other fun stuff. Haha, there are glow in the dark ones, red, teal, black and ribbed ones, as well as heating lube and dental dam. I don't  know when I'll use these, but its fun!!  At first, we had thought that it was going to be students in drag at first, but it ended up being professionals. It was an experiance, thats for sure. The hottest one there was named India. She was only 18 and had been doing drag since she was 14!!! I can't believe that! PLUS her mom and dad were there at the show!! I'm glad they are so accepting of their child and everything, thats great. But I would never let my 14 year old do that... that is waaay too sexual for someone that young.. in my opinion at least. She was talented though...

India. She's hot. But then again, they all have hip/butt pads and breast somethings... But she can do the splits and flip and all kinds of crazy things.

Taylor May (I think?) She's a therapis and a Roanoke Alumn

Jessica J ( I think?)  haha, this one I thought was funny because her makeup and costume reminded me of fall guard ...

But yep. That was a fun/interesting experiance. Apparently they have drag shows at the Park every Sunday. I'm not so sure I would go to one, but it definatly makes the Park look a lot more interesting. I'll check it out sometime before I graduate... haha

And although I am REALLY good at procrastinating, I suppose I should go get some work done. I hope y'all enjoyed these pics!
