A sad day, I Had to say goodbye to my cat Comet today

Aug 09, 2016 23:02

My wonderful male cat Comet was diagnosed with an aggressive lymphoma which is a blood cancer. It had already affected his liver, spleen, and lymphnoid. I talked to an encologost today and he told me even at best, with tretatment and a feeding tube inserted in his throat because he wasn't eating he most likely would have only had 6 months. I did not think that was fair to him so I decided to make the hard decision to say goodbye.

Amazingly his regular vet had her day off today but wanted to come in to do this for us. What a great doctor. Dr Barstable at Lawrence Animal Hospital is amazing. I have been going since I adopted both my cats. My great friend Mike was with me the whole time too, thanks hon . It was quick and painless. I got to say goodbye and they gave me a press of his two front paws.

His birthday was 10/14/2005 and today was goodbye at 8/9/2016. Only 11 years only :(
It was the right thing to do. Goodbye you white fluff ball, I will miss you so much.

He will have a single cremation, and once I get his ashes, I will be going to Yosemite and spread them under a big redwood tree.
