Burning Man 2010 - AMAZING
OK... I doubt I will get get EVERYTHING in this post, but I wanted share a few things about Burning Man. It will be VERY long, but enjoy! (if you wanna use any of my photos, just ask me)
Burning Man 2010 was Aug 30 - Sept 6th, 2010
SATURDAY Aug 28: ChairoRaccoon, Jurann and I picked up the RV known as NECOBUS at SmashWolf's place. We drove up the mountain, and drove back down through Felton instead of back down Saratoga. We ran and got dinner at Burger King (which they got WRONG).
It was getting late, so we just grabbed my stuff (which was ALL ready to go the day before!) and shoved it into the RV. Then Chairo drove the RV to his house while I was behind him in his car. We tried driving it up the drive way and there was NO way to get it up there because it was way too steep. So we parked the RV in front of their drive way. I was tired so I crashed on a sofa, while Chairo packed and did some School work.

SUNDAY Aug 29: I woke up to find HUGE pile of stuff to bring down to the RV! In two trips, we amazingly got it all down in Chairo's car! (he is amazing in packing stuff!) We both got our last "REAL" shower and ended up leaving around 1PM. (last minute I ended up putting the Burning Fur logo aka FUR MAN on the back of the RV!)
I filled it up (almost $100, urf!), then we finally hit the road! The ride to Lodi wasn't bad at all. We picked up uckticoonox (Uck) at his Family Union, then drove to his dad's house and filled up with fresh water and got his stuff put in the RV. (At this point, the RV looked STUFFED!)
After that we found an RV place to filled up the propane. When we tried to get on the freeway, we ended up going the WRONG way on the freeway (west vs east??) but they were working on the on ramp and had orange cones blocking it, but we went for it and we SQUEEEEEZED through and got going the right way! TONS of people were honking and waving at us (because they were going to Burning Man too), but one group was waving at us because our "poop hose" was hanging out of the bumper! (WHOOOPS!) So we stopped, taped it up and went on our way.
We hit Reno around 7PM. We went to Walmart and WInco for groceries and last minute things, including 15 bags of ice. I had to give up one bag because we didn't have ROOM for it! (I gave it to a Burner in the parking lot!)
Around 10PM, things just STOPPED on the line, many, many miles away from the front gate! We never moved for HOURS. (I even went to pee out in the middle of no where! that was...uhm, interesting. heh)

MONDAY Aug 30: (OPENING DAY OF BURNING MAN!) After a long walk back and forth down some of the stopped cars, I came back. After a while, I took a short nap. We watched the sun go down AND go up! Around 5 or 6AM, things started to move again. I THINK around 7:30PM, we hit the front gate. They asked NooB's to touch the dust and to ring the bells. So we parked around, we all had smiles, I put my hands in the dust and smacked Chairo and Uck on the back with them with my mark, and then we all run the VERY loud bell!
We FINALLY found our Fur Village (Put together amazingly by Neonbunny at Florence and 6:30 somewhere around 9AM. It was really, really dusty windy. We took some stuff out of the RV, got Uck's tent set up, and we got the RV organized and got a bit of sleep. It was really windy and dusty when I woke up around 4PM. I put my goggles and stuff to be able to breath. An hour or so afterward, I heard THUNDER! It was getting REALLLY dark a bit away from us. Someone who has been to BM several times told me to get my stuff in the RV right now. So I moved our bikes and whatever under the cover to keep it as dry as I could.
Then the water poured! Chairo and I ran into the RV to keep dry and to take interesting pics of mud. The rain lasted for about an hour, I think, but turned EVERYTHING into MUUUUD. I felt sorry for those with bikes who couldn't use them, and barely could walk because their feet were just COVERED in mud!

Then came the most amazing, thing... a DOUBLE and QUADRUPEDAL rainbow!! (you could BARELY see the quad, but it WAS there!), the Double, everyone was screaming "WHAT DOES IT MEAN!?!" (laugh) It was great! The bad thing? Well, the SUN was going down, very, very quickly, and well, it would NOT let the mud dry out! YIKES! There was mud all over the place. During this, I got my right second toe stepped up, and blood blister showing up under the toe nail.
We spent time with other Furries in our village. Trying to stay dry! I have no idea what time it was when I finally went to sleep. I set up the back of the RV so it was COMPLETELY blacked where I was sleeping. Was awesome!!

TUESDAY Aug 31: Woke up with my toe just SCREAMING at me, throbbing. It was Soooooo hard not to want to needle it because it was already blood blistered! But, with it so dusty, I didn't want to do that. It was SO badly pressured for two days or so) I mentioned it and Uck was sweet and let me borrow his "Jesus Sandals" which had NO pressure on the toe toes. THEY WORKED WONDERS!! JESUS SAVED JEN'S FEET!!! OMG I was worried that I couldn't do walk or be on my bike at all for a few days. (THANK YOU UCK! You really did safe me having a good time!)
I was able to go visit (by being on a bicycle for the first time in 15 YEARS!!) Orzel, Reiville, Whitefox, Lindz and Vixen's camp. It was a bit away from us, but they had a nice set up! BRC JUST got done with watering down the area, and I tried to cross it to get to their camp and I ended up falling in the slippery mud and was ALLL muddy on my left on my bike and myself! I laughed my ass off. I wasn't hurt, just embarrassed and muddy!

WEDNESDAY Spt 1: (This is where things become kinda blurry!) I helped setting up for Furry Dance and other pieces in the village. We had a nice long walk with our group in the middle of the day til the early evening. The Furry Dance was TERRIFIC and was very well attended around 9PM. Later that night, I think around 11:30PM or so I ended up spending some fun and crazy time with Chairo. Around 5AM we ended up biking to the playa and watching the sun rise! It was GORGEOUS!
Around 7AM after the sun was up, we ended up going back to the RV. I crawled in to my cubbyhole and zonked out.

THURSDAY Spt 2: Spent almost the whole day sleeping, and was comfy at the Camp! I did Not mind that at all :) Was great to watch people and take pictures of people! This is what I called my "down day". Later that night, Foxglove went with me and showed me around the Playa, it was really sweet! Really got to see a lot of people things with him! I went to the Temple with him and got to write something on it that made me cry, but I wanted to do it.
This night I was wanting to help those who are completely NON-GLOWERS (those who dont have any type of light on them) who were going out on the Playa. I gave out over 100 glow wrist bands. People LOVED it! It made me feel really good that I gave out things that could help people :) Uck gave out some AWESOME LED necklaces as well! (I ended up with four of them, they really are neat!)

FRIDAY Spt 3: Was out with Areitu and wondered around for HOURS AND HOURS with him!! We took a trip on a couple Art Cars, and we were hot, so we found a neat huge VW bug and that misters on it and they gave us icecream! We show AMAZING things, and got some great pictures! You can see a LOT of the area just by walking and walking! It was many hours, and we finally found home, but it was a Great Trip!
The thing that kinda bummed me out that day is that there was a guy walking down "our street" and all of a sudden FREAKED OUT! He was slamming his head and body on the hard playa, breaking his nose, bitting his tongue, and screaming. Telling people they were the devil and that they were all going to hell! There is no real 9-1-1 on the playa, but the Rangers got there within 5 minutes, and they got him in an Ambulance within 15 minutes. That was SUPER FRIGHTENING!! We named him "Dolphin Boy" because of the way he shot his body in the air with his face, like a dolphin would do in the water! This was the first (and only) "bad trip" I have seen in my life time. He was on 1: PCP, or 2: WAYYYY too much acid.
That night, our whole group had a fantastic time by going out on our bikes to The Man, and OMG the first REAL WHITE OUT! I lost EVERYONE except Uck! He told me "Lets just walk!" I agreed! He and I had HOURS of fun just wondering around on the Playa with our bikes. Eventually we found the "10:00" area which was the Nexus area (lots of dancing music, etc). We locked down our bikes (and I left my lights on so we could find them many hours later!) We wondered around with no actual place to go. We went deep into the Playa, and we found a dome that was made of Mylar which was awesome sounding in the wind, and every point of the dome had 10 light LEDs circles. We went in and laid down. Sound, Music, and lights was absolutely AMAZING. The coolest thing? You can CONTROL what this dome did!! It had a gerbil ball with a controller in it, and you can move it around and it changed what sound and lights did! You an press a button and it TOTALLY changed EVERYTHING. We ended up being there for over 2 hours!
After that we wondered around again, found a toilet which we needed, and went back to grab our bikes. WE FOUND THEM! The lights on my bike were STILL glowing! Thank goodness, there were LITERALLY THOUSANDS of bikes next to ours! Totally crazy.
We walked and walked and watched neat things and finally ended up home. Most of our group made it there before us, and I am glad everyone was safe after losing everyone! I ate some stuff because I was hungry, then I ended up TRYING to go to sleep, but didnt end up going to actual sleep until the sun was up.

SATURDAY Spt 4: I slept until Somewhere around 11 (no one had a clock, it didnt matter!). I went with a group to find breakfast, but the place we went to was already out of food. But, that's OK, we went back home and they made bacon and I had fruit. I don't really remember what happened with this day. I did some walking, and went to the camp a bunch o time. This was the day THE MAN BURNS!
Around 8PM, our WHOLE group GLOWED UP, went and walked down to The Man. We ended up getting FANTASTIC seats! (well on the Playa) We were only about 8 people to the front! The Fire Group that danced around The Man was absolutely GORGEOUS! I LOVED the Fire Dragon!! We had a great time watching the burn, it only took 25 Minutes for him to drop (unlike last year which was close to 4 HOURS). It was very beautiful to watch. :) We all went up to the huge Fire Pit afterward and had our minutes to reflect on things. Rob "had my back" so I wouldn't get lost within the 50,000 people! (THANKS SO MUCH Rob,I REALLY appreciate you staying with me!)

I wondered around with Rob, Brigus, and Bevin. We went and saw a LOT of stuff. Took some great pics. We EVENTUALLY went back home, and things were all good and I went to bed very happy. :)

SUNDAY Spt 5: Woke up late again. Which is ALL good! Once again, I don't remember much about what happened that day! I know we took a while and packed up a lot of stuff into the RV so we could get out of there after the Temple Burn. I helped some others break down their tents.
Around 9PM, the whole camp got all GLOWED UP, got up and walked down to The Temple. There was an AWESOME Remote Controlled small plane that kept zooming over our heads and kept us entertained until the Temple went up in fire. Some of our group had to go to the bathroom, so I held a light up with had my blinker on so they could find me. AMAZINGLY, with 50K people around, they STILL found me!! I was happy, we sat down, and our group was handing around Wine and Sake, so I had a few drinks.
Then THE TEMPLE BURNED! The Temple Burn got me in a GOOD cry... It felt good. Rob was a sweety and sat next to me the whole time, and then spent time with me just wondering around afterward to see art, art cars, and places! We ended up going to The Cafe, so he could get some coffee, and we ran into grevydude aka Lindz and Vixen! (hehe 50K people around and I run into friends :) )
We eventually ended up at home, and we started packing up. I tried staying out of the way while people were packing up, but we eventually got on the rode after Midnight.

MONDAY Spt 6: Getting out at 12:30AM, and hit the gate at a bit over 2AM. It was a very, very long feeling drive. Everyone was very tired, and Chairo did a great job getting us to gas station so we could fill in and I could get my poor bladder emptied (OMG IT HURT SO BAD!!) We finally ended up in Reno around 7AM, and I had to call all around to get a room! Apparently it was packed, but we finally got a place at Peppermill Casino. Uck, Chairo, and myself all took a LOOOONG shower, then crawled into our beds for a TERRIFIC sleep into a bed for several hours. Around 6PM we got a hold of a few people and did dinner at Island Buffet w/Uck, Chairo, Rob, Bevin, and Brigus! It was SO MUCH FUN AND DELICIOUS!
Afterward, jumped into the RV and headed to Lodi to drop off Uck at his dad's place, then Chairo and I jammed as fast as we could to his house to drop off stuff around 1AM, then my place at 2AM, which Jurann was SUCH a nice guy to drive Chairo home while I moved stuff into my apartment, and then to bed.

Well, it sure took a TON out of me!
Will I do it again? I DUNNO!
Almost absolutely NO DRAMA (and if you know furries, seems like they LIVE off drama! heh)
EVERYONE I didn't know was SO friendly! No angry at all for a full week! Was amazing.
I dealt with NO SHOWER for 8 DAYS!!! OMG!!! My hair! (laugh)

MONDAY Spt 6: Getting out at 12:30AM, and hit the gate at a bit over 2AM. It was a very, very long feeling drive. Everyone was very tired, and Chairo did a great job getting us to gas station so we could fill in and I could get my poor bladder emptied (OMG IT HURT SO BAD!!) We finally ended up in Reno around 7AM, and I had to call all around to get a room! Apparently it was packed, but we finally got a place at Peppermill Casino. Uck, Chairo, and myself all took a LOOOONG shower, then crawled into our beds for a TERRIFIC sleep into a bed for several hours. Around 6PM we got a hold of a few people and did dinner at Island Buffet w/Uck, Chairo, Rob, Bevin, and Brigus! It was SO MUCH FUN AND DELICIOUS!
Afterward, jumped into the RV and headed to Lodi to drop off Uck at his dad's place, then Chairo and I jammed as fast as we could to his house to drop off stuff around 1AM, then my place at 2AM, which Jurann was SUCH a nice guy to drive Chairo home while I moved stuff into my apartment, and then to bed.

JEN'S THOUGHTS
Well, it sure took a TON out of me!
Will I do it again? I DUNNO!
Almost absolutely NO DRAMA (and if you know furries, seems like they LIVE off drama! heh)
EVERYONE I didn't know was SO friendly! No angry at all for a full week! Was amazing.
I dealt with NO SHOWER for 8 DAYS!!! OMG!!! My hair! (laugh)
