6 things for 6 months since I last posted

I joined yahoo answers. My favorite questions are about rare diseases or genetics, no surprises there. I have a best answer rating that fluxuates from 74 to 75 percent.

If you take insulin, and you aren't in an experimental trial of inhaled or eye drop or suppository insulin, then you need to get it under your skin somehow. Your options are needle (whether pen needle or syringe), cannula (whether pump, IV, or i-port), and jet injector (which uses brute force but no needle). In November I got a jet injector from Canada. It broke a week or two ago and I'm not sure yet about whether or not I'll be willing to send it to Canada for repairs. Mailing medical stuff internationally is expensive.

I signed up for a course to become a certified nurse's assistant and so I had to get scrubs. It turns out that despite the fact that most people going into medical professions are female, the scrubs are sized by male sizes. The facility running my course sells size Small, Medium, and Large. I was willing to buy small without trying it on but the registrar insisted I take a look at it first.
Unfortunately, the size Small pants came up to my armpits and wouldn't stay up without my two hands. The size Small shirt was almost right. I've been looking for somewhere I can try on sizes Xtra Small and Xtra Xtra Small but am thinking I may just have to order them both online and hope that one of those sizes fits. The physical my doctor signed for the course says I can lift and carry 100 lb (which I can) but that probably means that people taking it don't get much smaller than me.

Yesterday I bought a spaghetti squash with two stickers on it that had the name of a farm. I googled the farm. It is 327.5 miles away from me, according to google maps, which also offered directions. It sounded far away to me, and then I thought about how many miles away most of my produce comes from and felt sort of scared. It was a good squash (is, I guess- I haven't finished eating it quite). My father pointed out that if it was "local" like that it probably is from last year's crop. Squash stores well.

All of my brothers have had health problems in the last few months. I'm the healthy one, odd as that seems!
It makes life interesting.
