One would question whether the fact that the study solicited participants via Self magazine had an impact on the results, because I think it's pretty clear that that's a pretty targeted demographic and not necessarily representative of the general populace. For example, "Findings show that: * 75 percent of women report disordered eating behaviors or symptoms consistent with eating disorders; so three out of four have an unhealthy relationship with food or their bodies," really only shows that "75% of women who read Self magazine and are inclined to respond to surveys" have such a relationship. I'd even go so far as to argue, anecdotally, that most women who do have a healthy relationship with their bodies and/or food aren't reading Self magazine. Interesting nonetheless.
