Nurse diabolica (a scary thought indeed)

The weekend:

It seems my mom is becoming accident prone in her old age. She took another nasty fall last Thursday, which landed her in the ER. She cut the hell out of her foot (from toe to upper ankle) and her knee swelled up to the size of a softball. Her foot kind of looks like a Dr. Frankenstein creation. I got a call from her that night asking me to come down until my dad got back from his business trip. I left work early on Friday and headed for NB. I played nurse/slave/dog-keeper until my dad flew in.

My mom is a horrid patient. She randomly switches from do-this-for-me-bc-I’m-too-helpless-to-do-it-myself to by-god-I’m-gonna-get-up-and-do-this-and-don’t-you-dare-try-to-stop-me without any warning. Five stumbles later I had her back on the couch and threatened to duct tape her ass there until she learns to stay put. Luckily the combination of vodka tonics, pain meds and massive overdoses of payperview movies kept her sedate until my dad returned.

On the upside, I got to drive my dad's new Hudson. OMG it's a gorgeous car.

One day she will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine. mwhahaha (err that is to say, God I hope so!)

I got back to Raleigh late last night and had a proper scolding from the demons in regard to why I had dog hairs on my clothes. (Little Bailey is as cute as ever. She’ll be even cuter when she learns that her toilet is NOT the dining room carpet.) The demons put me through some bizarre form of dog-detox, which mainly consisted of sitting/laying on me for the rest of the night...and well into this morning.

Today’s plan:
-dye hair
-laundry
-vacuum apt
-hit the used bookstore (gotta love stores who use recycled bags.)
