Diabolica's Inferno

The weekend was fairly relaxing. I hung out with Kim most of it. She and shithead are on the outs again.

We saw the Passion of the Christ. I loooooooooooooooved those little demonlets (the kids who were taunting Judas). I want pics of them. Those little evil cherub faces were adorable.

It was a bloody movie, but it wasn’t as shocking or intense as all the reviews made it out to be. Truth be told (and maybe this is because I’m a horror movie fan so I’m used to seeing blood), I numbed out to it very quickly. After the flogging in that square, I grew bored - too much blood ruins the effect. Too much blood turns the “shock” into pity. Quit beating him and he’ll get there faster. Sheesh!

Another thing that kind of irked me, was that supposedly the wrists were nailed in crucifixions - not the hands. Apparently if you nail the hands and have the person hang from them, the arms will break off from the wrist and the person will topple down. In the movie they nailed his hands…not wrists. I know that’s how it is usually portrayed in crucifixes n such, but still you’d think they would want to get it right.

A C & D E M O N S

The AC broke sometime over the weekend. Uggggggh. I came home to an inferno Sunday around 1am. The maintenance guys came around today to fix it and found out that the compressor (or converter or C-something) blew and the entire unit needs to be replaced. They said they can fix it “tomorrow morning….weather permitted.” As we all know “weather permitted” really means “you’re fucked, we might have it fixed by Friday so go buy some fans” - which is exactly what I did. So now, at least the apt is somewhat cooler.

In addition to NOT fixing the ac, those bastards also tracked mud all over the carpet. I really shouldn’t complain. The complex is usually pretty good about taking care of stuff, so hopefully they will spring for a carpet shampooing.

The demons were locked in the bedroom all day. Demon is a biter so she had to be kept away from “strangers” in the place, and all of them cry when they’re separated. They were only supposed to be kept in there for the morning until they fixed the AC, but the complex people didn’t come until the afternoon. I came home expecting to find some pissed off demons, but they were pretty good. They did break a mirror though. They’ll be cooped up in the bedroom again tomorrow. I hope they don’t start crying real loud or anything…..and if they do, hopefully the neighbors won’t notice.

Yesterday I actually had them begging to take turns to sit on the ledge of the freezer. (and you thought I was kidding when I said it was an inferno in here!) I grabbed a towel and laid it on the edge so they wouldn’t get freezer-burn on their paws…..or shed inside the freezer. Then I stood there with the door open while they enjoyed the cool air coming from it. I know it sounds ridiculous, but each of them purred so loud when it was their turn. They’re scared of the one little fan I had yesterday so it was impossible to get them to stay in front of it. I had to do something - the poor things are covered in fur and they’re used to a very cold environment. (The idea hit me when I opened the fridge to grab a drink and Mephisto crawled in and had a seat. Obviously I’m not going to close the door while they’re in there or let them be in there unattended. Plus I got a nice dose of cold air while I stood in front of it too. ) And for those of you PETA fans, I would like to state for the record that it was NOT a cruel thing to do. In fact I think it was the most humane thing I could do under the circumstances.

Luckily now with the big fans blowing, the apt is much cooler and I don't have to do that again.

W O R K

On the work front, we’re back up to 80 reports to be formatted. Two weeks ago we were at 7, last week it stayed at 50, so by the end of this week I’m predicting that we’ll be back up to 100. Ugh.

Today was much better though. The last two weeks were absolute hell. I’m hoping that the rest of this week will be smooth.
