I had an epiphany tonight, and I'm writing it down in order to not lose it.  It starts on a negative note, but this is just build up for my actual idea.

College is bullshit. It's an institution designed to help the government preserve the upper class. It's too expensive for the poor to attend despite the handfuls of scholarships out there and though

I look forward to it. I guess basically what I'm proposing is a return of apprenticeships on a gigantic scale.

Flat rate or paid by the grade you earn? I like what you said about the perpetual remodeling. The University Center at UNO has been paying out money to fix it (Post Katrina) for two years and all that's been done is the set up of scaffolding. That's it, and yet still the money flows. Thank god for FEMA, or we might not have that terribly attractive scaffolding.

This is somewhat unrelated, but the Associated Press is saying there were 4 high school and college shootings in the past 6 days. 3 poeple died in the one that happened 90 miles away at a college in Baton Rouge last Friday. These are pretty sick institutions, built in a disgustingly hierarchical format and therefore incapable of fast adaptation, and apparently a completely fitting stage for acts of psychotic, armed activity.

How are you? Helpfully preserving the hierarchy?
