I've been thinking a lot about tax policy lately. Both presidential candidates tax policies have major flaws in them. But when I really think about it, it's not their plans that have the major flaws it's our current tax system. We tax people when they do the things that we want them to do (work for a living and save money) and we let them do what we don't want them to do as much tax free (spending the money they have and whatever money they can borrow). If we want to change how people behave, we have to change that.
Which brings me to the
Fair Tax. I've heard of it and have a basic idea of what it does. Has anyone looked more into it than that? Any thoughts?
