Car:
So, I took her in to get my oil changed and they told me my inspection was up. They were going to do it there, but then they didn't even bother because I have a crack in my windshield that's about a foot long. So I need to go get that fixed and then go get the inspection done afterwards, which I still probably won't pass because I doubt I meet emission guidelines 'cuz of all the shit going on under the hood. I need a transmission flush, a radiator flush and my fuel system needs to be cleaned out. That's gonna be about 3-4 hundred dollars, and I need to wait until I can do that and still swing my car insurance payments etc. I can hear her struggling all the time whenever I push her, and my gas mileage sucks right now - probably because of the fuel system thing. I'll get it done as soon as I have the money, which I should soon because I've been working like a fiend. Which brings me to my next topic...

Work:
For those who think I'm still working at Friar's: I'm not. Except when I cover for Seanna. I'm bartending at the Hicksville bar on Wednesday days, and I actually got a sweet weekend job at this Italian Restaurant in Plainview. So I've got Wednesday day, Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday all covered. *singing* moneymoneymoneyMo-ney, *high-pitched* MONEY! */singing* It's weird, but working one job actually makes me appreciate the other more. La Famiglia is awesome 'cuz I don't have to worry about the coked-up, shit-faced psycho alcoholics you get in neighborhood bars. It's a nice place, it's clean, it's expensive (which means good money), and most of what I'm doing is making drinks for the waiters to bring to the tables, anyway. BUT, at No Limits I don't have to wear dress shoes. I don't have to keep tucking in my shirt, or wear my hair up. And the best part: at No Limits, I can tell customers to go fuck themselves if I want, 'cuz it's my bar. After the weekend I can't wait for Wednesday, and after Wednesday I can't wait for the weekend. It's a good balance, if I do say so myself. =)

Health:
I was in the hospital 3 Mondays ago. Here's how it happened: I know I'm allergic to peanuts, and I know to watch what I eat. I know Chinese food is a big problem, and I'm always careful about it: only ordering things I know are safe at certain places, staying away from what I haven't had before at a certain place, etc. I've never had a problem with the fried dumplings from the place Dad brings food home from. So, he brought me home some fried dumplings because he knows I like them. I cut one in half, ate the first half, speared the second with my fork and immediately knew that something was wrong. I had a worse reaction than I ever had since I was 3 years old and my parents first found out I was allergic. It's never happened that quickly, or that violently. I was throwing up like I had a stomach virus from hell, my entire body was red and even purple in some places, I seriously couldn't breathe and had to use my Epi-Pen, and ended up having to go to the emergency room anyway. I had to get a shot of Benadryl immediately, and they gave me IV meds for nausea, a steroid for my lungs, something else (I don't remember what). I have one day off a week (Monday) and this was how I spent it - laying in a hospital bed afraid that I was going to die. Although, I will say this: this was a county hospital emergency room that was VERY busy, and I was still in and out of there within two hours, due to the fact that they take Anaphylaxis VERY seriously. I just can't believe that this allergy has progressed so much! I used to be able to test foods that I hadn't had before by taking a small bite and waiting twenty minutes; if I didn't start to feel a reaction coming on, then I knew it was safe. If I did, then I would stay away from it and take some Benadryl, and I would be fine. Now, I can't even do that. Guess I can't try anything new anymore. *whines*
