So I entered two pieces into the Cuesta Student Art Show: one was a drawing I did in one afternoon. The other was a diorama I made from a dresser drawer and Super Sculpty. This piece literally made me cry. It was hell to put to together, but it turned out really well. I thought that one would get in.

The judge picked the one I did in an afternoon. I'm glad I got something in, but I really wanted my diorama in there. It was different from other things in there and honestly it was more interesting than my drawing. After my teacher found out who in her class got in (which was mostly everyone) she congratulated them with hugs. She didn't hug me. She said, "did you get something in?" me: "yes" her: "oh, good job."

Also she doesn't like anything I do. She says it's too dark or too weird. So I change it because she is the one grading it. I feel like an outcast in there because everyone else in her class she has had before.

Brennan-Smith (awesome art history teacher) came in and said my piece I am currently working on is beautiful. Best compliment I could possibly get. My teacher says it looks too heavy and to lighten it. I'm getting pretty pissed because obviously my teacher and I have different tastes and opinions on what's good. I want to do what I like, but in the end, she is the one grading it and I want to get a good grade.
