this post is for stainofmylove, I owe her my bla bla bla about FNL...

premise:
there is the re-watching community

Friday Night Lights Summer Watch-a-thon
(Re)watch all three seasons with other fans during the summer break at fnlwatchathon.

I've read the schedule and I thought: this is insane, I can't watch 3 episode per week! then I started to watched it and I watched the first 7 episodes in 3 days LOL! then work and life kick in but I'm going to watch more this weekend...

If you don't know what I'm talking about, there is the wonderful picspam stainofmylove made few months ago, these a pretty much the reason I like it (minus the "America I know" obviously, but I must add something about it

the football: I've been part of a waterpolo team for 2/3 of my life, so, even if I don't know absolutely nothing about American Footoball, I can totally connect with the characters and the dynamics of the team... the great star, the *clown* of the team, the reserve that suddenly have all the spotlight, the pressure of the city, the families, the coach that is a father/Sergent/tyrant/friend/psychologist and so on, still don't understand too much about the rules but it's not important.

Also, maybe you can't believe it, but the way Dillon live the football is pretty much the way Roma live my soccer team (As Roma), with the radios (a lot more, obviously) and the fans and all the crazy things about the classic games with the rivals and I could go on and on... All those crazy attachment to the player... everything, really...

The structure of the episode let you know a little more about one character at time, so, being only at the 7th episode, I don't "know" well every character, but I can say I have my favorite so far: Little Matt Saracen is my favorite. He is the good guy, and I usually don't like the good guy much, but how you could not love him, when in the first episode all his world change in few seconds? His frightened face won me. His earnest almost naive soul too. The coach and his family come close second and then the others. I'm not too much in to dislike characters but I must say I don't get all the love the 2 more popular characters have. but let's wait and see. Just 1 character I don't like: I can't stand Lyla's father.

It's not perfect, there are some thing that are cliché but nothing disturbing or irritating... And the score is fantastic, really! The music is always perfect for the moment. There are some really really great scene, like the night training with Matt and the Coach...

so in the end, watch it, is worth it!

PS: Krystle: but those kids are all orphans? Matt, Tim, Tyra, Smash (the father)?
