We get a lot of books sent to us, it is after all a bookstore, and yesterday one of the books were a Kaptein Sabeltann book. With those classic Egil Nyhus drawings. Not to be rude about the guy (as I can't draw that well myself) but his artwork is not really my cup of tea. And the art is mostly to blame for my giggling at work.
Anyway! The story is that Benjamin (stoner Benny-boy) has been sent up the mast to look for land. And he keeps announcing land at every freaking thing he sees, which naturally makes Sabeltann a bit pissed off. Because it’s never land, but a lot of random things.
Such as this whale! can somebody tell me how the hell Sabeltann and Benny-boy is able to fit inside that boat? And where sabeltann got the umbrella from?
Then we have this poor fellow on a raft.
A sea serpent, as usual. (canon came from where now?)
Pelle and Pysa on a fishing trip on a log…….yeah, they do it all the time (is it their day off? why are they not on the ship? how the fuck does floating around on a log that is also on fire work out? So many questions!)
Miriam’s hat fying around. It can do that apparently. Sabeltann is skeptical.
Arrrrrrrrr!! Get away!
(It’s enough to drive a man to drink) Benny-boy in the end spotted a bottle in the water. A bottle that happened to have a map inside it!
At the end of the day Sabeltann is happy, as the map led to a chest full of gold presented by a monkey.
