Tonight's the night
I have finally gone through Seasons 3 and 4 of Dexter, and I'm on episode 2 of Season 5.
I am absolutely in love with this series again, I don't even know why I ever stopped watching it. Well, actually I do, it's because S3 was "meh" and I kind of hated Miguel Prado, he was such a boring character, but still, this show continues to be freaking amazing and I'm so glad it's still on!
The characters are still my favorite bit about this show (well, aside from Miguel Prado). Dexter is a fantastic character, Deb is my favorite and such a (foul-mouth) BAMF, I love Angel, Masuka can be a bit creepy, but he's a nice guy... Rita was a bit irritating on S4, but she got better, and her death was so shocking! I mean, not so much for me, because I had seen spoilers (against my will, which was kind of frustrating), but it was still devastating. Especially the fact that Harrison was there! Oh my, when I saw that baby in there, I just... *shivers*
AND THEN S5 STARTED AND IT'S BREAKING MY HEART WITH EVERY EPISODE!
First, we got Dexter remembering Rita on ep 1, and then realizing he really did love her... which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. But the worst part for me? Dexter having to leave Astor and Cody with their grandparents. THAT WAS CRUEL! He loves those kids so much, and he was CRYING when he was watching them go! I always loved how Dexter interacted with them... and poor Cody really didn't want to go... :(
At least Dexter still has Harrison. That's comforting... Because I would be really scared to watch him if he didn't have any of the kids around him. I'm afraid to think of what would happen if that was the case. Thankfully, it isn't.
OH! And let's not forget there's also Quinn going after Dexter not unlike the way Doakes used to do in S1 and 2. This guy was nice on S3, but ever since then, he just got worse. The same goes for LaGuerta. She's got her moments, but I still don't like her and I don't like that she married Angel. Angel deserves so much better!
Speaking of which, I have a feeling that the writers have a goal to have Deb kill herself by the end of the series, 'cause it's unbelievable! She can never be happy! First, she got engaged to a serial killer in S1, then she met Lundy in S2 but he left her, then on S3 she had Anton, but on S4, she cheated on Anton with Lundy, then Anton left her and she had to watch Lundy get killed in front of her. What is it tha tthe writers have against her? OH! And that's not even mentioning the fact that her brother is a serial killer too.
Well, let me get back to my marathon. Ep 3, here I come!
