[vid] A Study in Time

YAAAAY!!! My trailer! It's finally finished!!!

This is probably the most frustrating-yet-completely-awesome project I've ever worked on. It's awesome because, well, it's Sherlock and Doctor Who! And it's frustrating because it's a crossover trailer. You see, crossover and trailer are two words that should never go together. Trailers are tough to make. Crossover vids are tough to make. Crossover trailers are soooo tough to make!
The worst part were the manips. OH LORD the manips! I must have spent half of the time I took to make this vid just working on the manips. But at least for ONCE Photoshop decided to work with me. 'Cause it not often does. I consider myself very lucky! Because if it hadn't, you would have heard of me on the news "Death by Photoshop".
Still, it's not so much that I hated making them, no! I actually loved making them, but it's darn frustrating because most of them don't show up for even a second, and the one that actually does stay up for some length of time is actually the crappiest of all! That's darn frustrating.
But oh well... I doubt you guys will even notice them (no, seriously, I doubt ANYONE will notice the last one I made. And you know what? It's supposed to go by unnoticed anyway!).

Also, I had some doubts about the story... My original idea was to have Sherlock meet not only Ten, but Nine and Eleven as well... But it was getting way too confusing, so I kept only Ten, but with a slight hint at Eleven at the end. Basically, this ended up being my own personal version of "The End of Time", which makes me ridiculously happy. I have to admit I like this version better!
But the bit that took me the longest to sort out was that bit where John talks to Ten. I'm still not happy with it. But everything I did just seemed to make it worse. Also, I really wanted to have Ten meet Sherlock in that bit, but I thought for a while and figured that, if the Doctor ever wanted to reach Sherlock, he'd probably do it through John. At least that's what I think.
Besides, a trailer wouldn't give away the big meeting, would it? They have to keep some of the surprises to the actual episode. :P

So anyway, long story short: here's a vid, I hope you like it! :D
(and wow! It's 5:30 am already... lol maybe I should sleep...)

Song: "Cracking the code" by PostHaste Music
Fandom: Sherlock (BBC) & Doctor Who
Category: crossover, trailer, fast-paced, action
Spoilers Through: The Great Game (Sherlock) // "The End of Time, part 2" (Doctor Who)

Summary: After strange events start happening across London, Sherlock and John soon find out that a certain Time Lord is the key to all of them. But that is just the tip of the iceberg.

AN: I feel like ana_br should take at least half the credit for this. She helped me search for a song, and then found this particular one, she helped me with the coloring (I'm still used to the coloring filters on Vegas), she beta-ed half of this vid when I wasn't sure about the audio, she was always there whenever I had doubts about the story, and, most of all, she had to endure endless talks about this vid on MSN. I know I'm insufferable when I'm vidding, I can only talk about how frustrating a project is or how great I think it's going.
So ummm... yeah, Ana? YOU'RE A SAINT!!!

AN 2: Yes, "A Study in Time" is my sad attempt at being clever. You see, I suck at picking titles. BIG TIME (I always have. I can write a novel to you if you want, just don't ask me to pick a title for it)!
And yes, it does mean that the alternate title for this is of course "The End of Pink", which is the one I'll be using myself just 'cause it makes me giggle (in case you didn't know, yes, I do have the mind of a 10 year old).
