Ok, so I'm finally the Supernatural fan that I always knew I'd eventually be one day.
I got both season 1 and 2 on DVD and I'm on a Supernatural-a-Thon, and given the current state of affairs right now, where I can just about do anything during the day or night (and trust me, that's a bad thing), who knows when this will be over?
I mean, it's 3:30 am right now, I'm about to start season 2 and I don't think I'll be stopping this any time soon.
So, there are a few things I'd like to say before I start season 2:
(I was going to spoiler-cut this, but then I remembered... DUDE, IT'S SEASON 1!)
# I love Dean&Sam like you wouldn't believe! And yes, I mean 'Dean&Sam', not 'Dean/Sam' because no matter how much I love them, the whole concept of Wincest is way beyond me.
I don't care what RTD says, they ARE brothers! And they love each other like brothers, which is a beautiful thing in itself.
# I love Daddy Winchester!
# Like probably 90% of the Supernatural fans out there, Dean is my favorite of the two brothers. He's snarky, he's HOT, he's oh-so-damaged, and most importantly, he'll do absolutely anything to protect his family.
I mean, sure, Daddy and Sam probably would do anything too, but right at the end of season 1, Dean was the only one who didn't care about their little vendetta (ok, probably not "little", the thing did kill their mom and Sam's girlfriend) and was only doing what was necessary to protect those of his family who were STILL ALIVE!
I loved, loved, LOVED that he killed the guy who was attacking Sam using the oh-so-powerful bullets meant for the ultra-badass demon.
# HOWEVER, unlike most of the fans I've been finding on the internet, I do not hate Sam. In fact, I quite love Sam.
I mean, sure, anything can happen on the following seasons and all that I'm saying here is based on the episodes I've seen, which means the whole of season 1 - and there's what now, 5 seasons? - but well, at least for now, Sam's ok.
Sure, so his snapping at Dean and Daddy every two minutes gets a bit annoying at times, but sometimes he's right! I mean, he was right to snap at Daddy when the guy had barely returned after years of being gone and was already all "Do what I say, call me 'sir' and don't ask questions!" on them.
# I loved the episode where they met the two little brothers and Dean instantly related to the older brother and felt so darn guilty when the little brother got hurt. Dean loves his brother so much!
with all that said, I just couldn't end this post without the following thought about the season finale:
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??????
Ok, so I know at least Dean and Sam aren't actually dead because there are 4 more seasons still left for me to watch of this frelling show, but WHAT THE HELL??????
Did they learn that from the Farscape School of Frelling Mind-Rapping-Cliffhanger Finales? DUDE!!!
Also, I think I'll be needing a Supernatural icon sooner rather than later...
