Vidding meme.

Your software:
Sony Vegas Pro 8.0. And sometimes, when I need to make a mask or a color layer or anything at all, Photoshop CS3. I don't use it that often, though... Actually I think I only tried using it once, and it didn't work in the end, so... yeah. *shrugs*

Favourite video:
No bloody idea.

Least favourite video:
Probably the older ones... the really old ones. Those that people don't even remember anything about. 'The Vids That Shall Not Be Named', they might as well be called that. =P

A video that got surprisingly good feedback, but you are not completely satisfied with it:
'Brother, Let Go'. Don't get me wrong, I like it... but now, when I rewatch it, I can't help but think some sequences are confusing... not to mention there's a ghost frame that always kills me.
And yet, many people like it, which I'm truly grateful for, but I just know I could have made it better...

A video you like a lot that didn't get the good reaction you were expecting:
I'm quite happy with the response my vids get, at least now. I do understand that some fandoms have a bigger vidding audience than the rest, so even though my Michael/Holly vid didn't get that much response than, say, a Doctor Who vid, I can see why. So there's that one... and my Nine/Rose vid, 'All The Way', also didn't get much attention at first... but eventually I got a lot of response for it.
Well, I don't know! I'm happy with any reaction I get to my vids, quite frankly.

Best song/video combo (the song you chose was just perfect for the theme):
Generally speaking, I like the songs I choose. I always think they're perfect for the theme, if I didn't, Pooky wouldn't push me so hard to make them.

Video you had the most fun with:
'I Am A Scientist' was a lot of fun to vid... And my Daily Show/Colbert Report vids always make me happy. I guess the one I had most fun with was the Colbert 'Character Break Compilation' I made last year.

Video you had trouble editing because of the song:
I had some issues with the timing in 'Hollow' at first, but ana_br helped me with that. 'Better Together' also suffered a bit from the fact that sometimes I got to points where I had no idea how to continue...

A video you'd like to remaster:
'Scattered'. YouTube took down the audio from it, and while I know there's a way of getting it back, I'm trying to render it with a better quality and upload it again.
I'd like to make the definite version of 'The Wind' some day as well...

Most inspired sequence you made:
I really don't know... I'd like to think that I make good clip choices in general, and they all have some meaning (at least for me) behind them, but it's all in the context of the vid, so I can't really pick one at random.

Movie/show you have most enjoyed using for a video:
Apart from The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, Doctor Who is a lot of fun to vid.

Pet peeves (stuff you often see around in vids that makes you go wtf):
There are a few, actually (and excuse me if I sound a bit bitchy... *blush*):

- Songs cut in half.
I've seen a lot of it lately, especially in Jack/Ianto vids. The vid is great, but once it gets past the first chorus, it just ends! It's not like they cut a bit of the song so it wouldn't be too big, no, they just used the first half of it, and that's it. No matter how great the vid is, that always gets me irritated. Especially if the vid is good, actually...

- Fancy intros.
I like them, I think some of them even look quite professional. It's just that sometimes they're 00:30 long! Don't get me wrong, but I'd like to get to the vid, kthnx.

- Too many effects/Effects that don't make sense.
Effects are good. Effects are great. Effects are not, however, everything there is to a vid. Sometimes, you see a vid and even though the clip choices are great, the ammount of fancy effects the vidder put in there just makes you dizzy.
I'm looking at you, zooms! And gradient layers! And that bluey TV effect from Vegas that everyone uses. I'm also looking at you, colors! Coloring is good, but there is such a thing as too much of it.

- Ghost frames.
I hate them. I hate them on any and every vid, especially my own.

- Full screen and wide screen on the same vid.
Unless you're trying to make a point with it (which I'm guessing most people are not), please adjust the resolution so it all looks the same.

All my vids are HERE. And HERE.
