HUUUUGE thank you to my awesome f-list for the birthday wishes! You guys are the best!!!
I sure had a great time Friday, complete with a surprise party for me at work.
I mean, it wasn't much of a surprise considering they do one everytime someone's birthday comes up, plus I'm the first one there every day, so I got to see people arriving carrying suspicious packages. Still, knowing they actually took their time to do something for me was great. :)
As for presents, (besides the usual t-shirt and stuff) I got two amazing things from my parents:
- The complete Adventures of Tintin DVD (from mom! ♥)
- The complete Calvin & Hobbes (from dad, even though my brother insists it was from him. ♥)
As usual there was a dinner at my Mom's and some of my friends even stopped by, so it was all good.
I didn't buy myself a present this year, but I did spend a couple of hours yesterday working on a Colbert vid in celebration.

Remember, it was made in less than a day! So it's nothing too wonderful.
BUT It's mainly just for me anyway, and I do have a ton of other things to do for this week (like finishing my dissertation or whatever that thing's called), so the goal here was to make something cute and, most of all, fast. That's actually one of the reasons I went for Colbert...
There IS one bad thing about my birthday this year: I turned 22.
You guys probably don't know it, but I HATE this number. I hate it and at the same time it keeps haunting me wherever I go.
Although, to be fair, I don't hate it quite as much as I used to some years ago. But my friends are still curious to know the reason I don't like this number and keep asking me about it, so the whole issue is still around one way or another.
It's quite hilarious, though, to hear some of their theories on why I have problems with it. Things like, I once got 22 questions wrong on a test, or that I was actually born on October 22nd and my parents are lying to me (yes, I did hear this theory once)... hehehe I love how creative some people get when they're curious. :)
So yeah, I'm 22.
Though I can't say I didn't see this coming. :P
