Shadow and Power Animal

For example,
instead of Ego being central, we have the Soul,
and instead of the Shadow being a negative force filled of repressed desires,
we have the "Power Animal" or creature form / basis of the individual.

The Ego is based on imagination: "I am who I think this social context wants me to be",
but the Soul is based on individual choices: "I am who I choose to be", a social context becomes an opportunity for expression rather than a cue for acting according to a preset image, and rather than protecting a fragile illusion (the Ego, being derived by projections and assumptions), the Soul grows with the opportunity to express itself.

And so on, replacing Anima with Psyche or True Intrinsic Desires, and so forth.

Thus the negative (yet common) parts of an individual are totally removable, and not at all necessary. On this basis, true self-awareness liberates from common problems and all manner of social and individual ills which arise from "darkness within", or negativity.
