Miss Highland Tech 2009

My daughter Jamie (#9 on the right)  participated in a high school 'beauty' pageant to select the school Queen for 2009 which I would normally have to say was not
typical  of Jamie.

She has always been the more athletic type and it was somewhat out of character when she said she wanted to be in the pageant because they did not have enough girls going out for it. the last time they held a similar pageant was three years ago so they were more or less venturing into new territory and it showed.

She probably knew she didn't have a snowballs chance in hell but you know something?  I am damn proud of her for trying and damn proud of all the hard work she put into it regardless of the outcome.

I feel like a damn lucky dad to have a daughter like Jamie and I know that she will be able to conquer anything that comes her way. She has that right stuff, 'SPUNK' some would call it, and I love her and I love her for having it.

By the way immediately to her left was the first runner-up (#8) and the winner (#7). Nice company and Jamie tells me they were really sweet girls and shocked they were announced as first and second place winners.
