It has been a quiet week.
I must finally be getting old.
My wife left town (with her sister) for 5 days to tend to her mother. And what did I do? I just sat around and moped.
It is getting pretty pathetic that I don't have the energy to get in trouble any more. I did go to two Orlando Magic games, because I already had the tickets. I took my brother-in-law. He was moping around too. The highlight of our week was taking care of the dogs.
One of those games was Friday at 7:00. I fell asleep on the couch, and it was 7:30. I went into hyper panic, and spent about twenty minutes trying to get my brother's number to tell him I was late.
Doh.
Then I realized that it was still light outside.......... because it was 7:30 in the morning. I was actually 12 hours early. I am getting old.
Usually there is some "take the energy away" sex just before either of us leaves for a couple of days. Not this time, but she promised it as soon as she got back. And, of course, she was too tired when she got home yesterday. Maybe tonight. I think I am gonna explode. Maybe we are both getting old.
If you ever wondered if mom and dad still do it, the answer is yes. It just takes more setup, and being in a hotel helps a lot. It is even better if mom and dad are in the same hotel.
If you can't imagine your folks having sex, imagine what I must think about my parents. Both are over 80. And dad still has a twinkle in his eye. But I think mom is really good at ignoring it. My stepfather is the person that introduced me to the man cave. For years it was his shop. Now it is the dark back room with a TV that hasn't played anything other than westerns in 20 years. For Christmas he wants to update his complete collections of John Wayne, Bonanza, Clint Eastwood, and Roy Rodgers from VCR to CD. Thank God there isn't a pay per view old westerns channel, or we would lose our inheritance. Dad "works" four hours a day doing equipment maintenance for a friend, but only because the equipment is also over 80, and he is the only person alive who knows how to fix it.
I will post more often. I guess my brother's visit and wife's trip knocked me off kilter. But I did get some good sleep.
