I am finally back home. It is smart to visit Ohio occasionally when it is cold. It reminds me of why I moved down here. I think I am gonna snowbird someday.
Thanksgiving was great. I saw my brother, and two of his kids that I hadn't seen in 10 years. I worry about my brother. He has serious breathing problems, but won't quit smoking a pack of more a day.
Best part in Ohio, I had it out with my sister-in-law. It was great. She had a little too much vino, and started her usual drunken rant about how stupid my politics were. It was really too easy to win an argument with a drunk, but I got to say some things to her that needed to be said. Hard to describe, but it felt so good to unload.... especially in front of some other longsuffering relatives. Since that day she has been very friendly and timid with me.
Doesn't it feel good when you finally get to say stuff you have been wanting to say for a long time?
I spent the rest of the weekend packing stuff for the road trip back to Florida. After carefully loading the boxes as tight as possible, I went to get the truck, and ended up with a much larger truck than I requested. I could have used twice as many loosely packed boxes. So I ended up driving this huge truck home. Took three days, with a real nice stay to visit an LJ friend in the middle. More on that in another post.
