More AnthroCon

We (Heather and I) were hanging out with Ursula before the con started. We adjourned to the bar - something, being a non-drinker, I never do and something that made me feel very adult. I ordered a Creme Brule' which I could not finish (rich pudding with a caramelized sugar top). So, I texted Dave (who was on duty) and he roved by and said there was a report of rowdy girls in the corner of the bar. We blamed the dessert, and he had some. Later, Sandy (also on rover duty) came by as well. That was one loud dessert!

Newie and I had a total blast planing scenes for two characters of ours. There's a comic in there.

Found Miss Monster and was disappointing to find she's not drawing in sketchbooks. Talented in so many ways, I admire that she has committed to an artistic direction. The dolls she's been making really are so wonderful - I have looked into trying to make one myself, but whew! that's a whole lotta work in each one.

I found Rukis when I was in set up mode - and then never again for the whole weekend! Drat, my new sketchbook needs her! pout.

I made Laura draw a human in my sketchbook.... tee hee. After hanging with her at Spectrum Live, I am on her case about moving her art into new areas. She already does the furries so well...

Dawn had these gorgeous pottery pieces. The art show had a sudden flurry to make certain no trademarked characters were depicted, and Dawn got caught in some MyLittlePony pieces. I went back and asked questions - not knowing much about Ponies, and figuring the 'cutie marks' were things like lightning bolts; which could also be Thor or stars which means magic to me. They were MOST fabulous people, wanting to work things out for the best of the artist. Dawn got back those in the show.

Sara had the coolest DogTags she was making up! I gotta get some! If only for my characters.

Marcy was marvelous, having taken work for after close on sunday. She finished one, called the number and found that the customer had left Pitts 20 min ago! Arrrgggh! Waste of time, and it was already dead Sunday After Con! grrr. I suggested she call the next on her list and find out if he was still there - he was, and most happily picked up the badge.

The Dorsai Party was rockin' Sunday evening. I went down with some of the gang, and drinks were gotten. I believe Absinthe was involved for Andy - but I am un-educated in drinks. Saw one of the artist GoH's there, and finally had a chance to talk to him. Watched as someone had the balls to try and crash the Security party... wow.

Butterscotch chip cookies were brought to me all weekend! Yum! Normally, I don't take food - but these were from my new gamer, Wolf/Thomas (or maybe Wolf Master as his badge said). I usually have trouble knowing someone by their fanish name alone. But having been aware of it for the last few weeks, I find there are dozens of people I know from cons only by their character names - and it doesn't seem weird at all.

My table was between Marcy and Natashia (a good place to be) and it's always fun to watch the rush in the morning come to their tables. I think Natashia's rush has gone up as compared to Marcy's. I just sit between them, patiently waiting. Next year, Ursula would like to sit over near us - if only for bathroom breaks.
