weird dream

So Mom and Dad and I were walking down my parent's street (not a terribly uncommon occurrence when I visit them, but not something I generally dream about). We'd turned right coming out of driveway, so we were headed toward the lake. At the bottom of the hill and even with the lake, I realized I had school, so we stood there to wait for the bus (that was the first weird part - it's been over a decade since I last waited for a bus).

After a few minutes, a car drove by with Mike M. from High School in it. It stopped a few feet further on and he got out, having decided to wait for the bus with me. Now, it is important to note that the last time I saw Mike was at my 10 yr reunion and before that, I'd last seen him at graduation. Even in High School, we'd only really talked as it related to schoolwork. I have no idea what he was doing in this dream. That was weird thing number 2.

I introduced him to the parents, they said 'hi' then continued on their walk since I now had someone to wait with. No idea where Cindi was in all this.

Mike had a handheld game which was remarkably similar to a Mario Party mini-game (this and the Wii part later being the only parts of the dream that make any sense). We traded it back and forth a few times, and then decided to go back to the house to play real Nintendo. At some point some girl from early childhood (either the pre-K friend from the house across from the pond whose name I can't even remember, Karen O my kindergarten bus-buddy on the minibus, or Samantha L. my kindergarten/1st grade bus-buddy on the big kid bus - I have no clear recollection of which, but she was all grown up at this point, just like me and Mike, and at least I've thought about Mike in the last year since the reunion was in August, but I have no idea where she came from) had joined us and brought her Wii remote.

So we played Wii, and at around 9:00 pm (we'd apparently been waiting for a night school bus) we realized we'd forgotten about the bus entirely. "I guess we're missing school," I said at that point, not sounding terribly broken up about it (yet another weird thing, since this would have put me in tears in high school). Mike had shrugged and agreed, "Guess so." Then we kept playing Wii. It was fun.
