I'm going to try to avoid TMI, but this is about menstruation so if you're squeamish about periods consider this a warning.
I recently switched to using a menstrual cup, instead of pads and tampons, and it is so much better. If you haven't tried one, give it a try. There's some research involved to find the right one for you and a little bit of a learning curve on actually using one, but once you get started they are so much better than any of the disposable products. They're more comfortable, convenient, cheaper, more hygienic, healthier, and better for the environment.
