Summary: Sometimes fate brings us far from home, and sometimes it brings us back again. When a friend’s mysterious death causes Draco Malfoy to return to Britain, he is finally forced to face his past, and the love he left behind. A story about second chances.
Editor’s Thoughts: I have to say I was very honoured to help as a beta reader on this story, and for someone who had to wait until the next chapter was finished, I can honestly say, I have rarely waited for an update with such anticipation and awe. The story was so craftily built, with so many layers of awesomeness, that I have went from one suspect to the next, I have laughed out loud at some of the comebacks, (because first-rate humour is the trademark of the author), and I have cried (literally) at some of the revelations. I have enjoyed the mystery aspect of the story, and how some of Muggle tecnological aspects where incorporated into the Ministry crime-solving machine. Ron and Harry were especially lovable in this one, and I have thoroughly basked in the presence of some of our known sneaky Slytherins - namely, Mr and Mrs Malfoy, who were simply refreshing and amazing. Every scene with Lucius Malfoy in it brought a grin to my face, if you can imagine that.

But of course, the best part of each Dramione is how the relationship between our two beloved characters evolves. And that is a mystery in itself - a mystery explored through the engenious use of flashbacks in just the right places. Both Draco and Hermione are such complex characters in this one, I would do you a disservice by listing all the reasons I fell in love with this couple with new fervour.

Since I do not wish to spoil the reading pleasure to any of you who have not yet been able to read The Revenant, I can only encourage you to find the time for it. It made me wish fanfiction could be published in the form of luxurious, limited edition, leather-bound books... and the cover would be the banner made by the talented draconis23. Yes, all my fantasy worlds are this detailed. Enjoy!
