They had kissed.
They had kissed the night before, just as Nick was leaving. Stupid, stupid, stupid. What had he been thinking? How could he have done that? There was no way in hell that Nick Stokes, CSI and all time Ladies-Man, was not straight. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Now what’s left is going to be awkward silences between them when Nick gets into his lab and asks for his results. What the hell was wrong with him?!
He had slammed the door in his face.
He had slammed the door in his face, approximately 7 seconds after initiating the kiss. 4 seconds for the actual kiss-age, 2 for registering the shock for what he had done, 1 for slamming the door. Not to mention bolting it tight. It wasn’t as if he expected Nick to bang his fists against the door, demanding David to let him in. No, no, Nick was much more of a gentleman than that, and they both knew it. Nick was the sort of guy who would show up at your doorstep with something to say “Thank you for inviting me over” because that was what his mother had taught him.
Nick was also the sort of guy who would be straight.
Nick was the sort of guy who would be straight, but David just felt like he had to take a chance. Those lips looked so kiss-able, so suck-able, so… damn. He was losing it. Absolutely losing it. He sucked in a sharp breath, and tried to calm down. He was out of beer, seeing as how he had forgotten to re-stock yesterday and just the thought of getting up made him feel nauseous.
But Nick had stared at him the entire night.
Nick had stared at him the entire night; he could feel the man’s gaze on him. Even Archie noticed and that was an accomplishment for the said man because God knows how involved he was with his girlfriend at the party. Each time David tried to meet his eyes, Nick would turn away, only to talk to the person next to him or gaze around the room. It was sickening, and it had done nothing to soothe David’s nerves.
The doorbell rang.
The doorbell rang and David’s heart leapt into his throat. Nick. Who else was there? It was past midnight and the party had finished barely five minutes ago. Or was it ten? He got up and answered the door, only revealing a small crack so that he could see who it was outside.
Nick smiled at him.
Nick sent him a small smile through the crack and he opened it wider, making a motion to invite the larger man in. Nick shook his head ‘no’, before swooping down and gently kissed David, before pushing the said man further into his house as hands began to roam and Nick’s mouth had somehow found David’s throat.
Nick Stokes was so not straight.
