A hot Spring day, and a long weekend again. Totally what I needed after this week.
At work, we had to move all the stuff from the Studio (desks, printers, computers) into the production room, where I set up a desk for the fulfillment mail processing. After a long day of moving things around, we were ready to get the new floor poured into the Studio.
Wednesday, the floor makers came and set up their (mixing) camp right behind the chair I planned on working on. And they set their bottles of liquid against our only and important color printer.
And then the black/white laser printers needed for fulfillment decided to go into error a few times. Special production paper had to arrive in the morning, but arrived in the afternoon. It was needed for a huge mailing (17000 addresses). When I ran that mailing over the printers, they went into error a lot more! Like: print 20, stop, fix, repeat. These errors came in 2 kinds: paper jam, and transport wheels getting too dusty to grab the paper. So I remove the paper, and continue the printing.
During all this, I had other work laying around as well. Thursday, I had to print orders for mousepads. So I turn on the color printer and... paper jam >.<... Not that printer too?! OTZ I called the repair guys, and they came to fix it on friday. Luckily, the orders had to be done by friday next week, so no bother there.
I could go on about this week, but I'll skip the not-so-annoying stuff. I've had good things happen too, you know ;)
Part of the good things were ingame in FFXI. Just had some good times with the linkshell group, and grinded through the Treasure of Aht Urghan missions in a few days. Also did things I had never done, nor would have thought I'd ever be doing, like Nyzul Isle and ZNM. And I met new people when I joined a new linkshell. More doppelgangers XD
Life isn't all gaming and work, even though I'm near the end of FF13... I also push myself to draw. I like drawing solo a bit more than on the paintchat, so I often grabbed some reference and sketched away. Didn't always posting things on Tumblr though. Slow, but sure, I'm getting the hang of certain things. Sometimes I feel uninspired and it seems like a big step back when I draw something (i.m.o.) bad, but it's part of the progress, right?
Meanwhile, at home... My sister got an appartment, and will get the key 3 weeks from now. Already my parents are planning a lot around this; switching rooms, paint this, make a closet there, put this and that in other room. Silly parents... she's not gone yet!
Finishing this post with: I think our cat is getting deaf. I could call for her for minutes without her responding :(
