Thank you. This was the first I-actually-put-effort-into-it fanfic I've written in quite awhile, and I'm glad to know you like it. I rather surprised myself while writing it, actually.

I'm glad to read something about evil tyrant bastard!Gellert again. All the angsty fics almost had me at the point of swearing he is merely a misunderstood woobie. :p j/k

This was chilling and horrible in the best of ways!

Is it bad that I take having him called "evil tyrant bastard" as a compliment? ...Probably. But that's what I was going for. Something that was just... As you said, chilling and horrible but in that good way.

I'm glad you liked it.

That was intense. Gellert is so evil in this, but as has been said, it's in his character and one can't have him without it at least at some point.

This fic reminded me of the scene near the end of GoF where Voldemort is torturing Harry at the graveyard, actually. Just had to confess. xD

Oh, and it's great to see you back in this fandom!

Since you mentioned this fic wasn't beta-read, I believe it's Nurmengard. It didn't take away from my reading pleasure, but I thought to just point it out. (Or is there an alternate spelling I've managed to miss?)

Thank you for your response. I'm glad for the positive replies this is getting, as, well, it was half written in reaction to how little I've seen (though it could well be my not looking properly) of Gellert as what he becomes, a villain. (Though, in my version, he does still have good INTENT, which is what separates him from Voldemort later. He does actually want to HELP, or he did, whereas Voldemort was always about power.)

I suppose it is rather like that, in a way. Of course, the big distinction in my mind is that Voldemort was torturing for the sheer enjoyment of it while Gellert, though he certainly enjoys what he does, has an actual purpose to his.

You are correct. First person to point that out to me. I will go back and correct that soon.

I'd say what makes Gellert so interesting is that while he may have become a villain in the story, he's not the black-and-white sort. I have to agree about the intent (also, I think Voldemort was all about control and having power over everybody where Gellert was more about glory and his motivation to unite the Hallows).

Oh, he definitely had a purpose. It's in the name of this fic. ^_^
