Um, this is just my opninion but I don't think you should use your non-doll fund savings. Okay, so maybe I'm a being a bit of a hypocrite here since I used mine when I bought my first doll and I don't really regret my decision but that was only because nothing happened that would require me to have my savings until the time that I got more money (that is, Christmas). I'm just saying this in precaution. You can get from your savings but not take everything, in case of an emergency. It's better to be patient than sorry, right? XD
I vote for not using your current savings yet. Keep it for emergencies or something. I personally keep whatever amount extra even if I'm tempted to put it in my doll fund because we'll never know when we'll need the money right?
My suggestion: Get a job first so you can start saving for your doll. With a job, you'll be sure that you can pay back your boyfriend if he helps you with your doll fund (however, I suggest not owing anyone money because we never know when we'll run out of it o.o). Save as much as you can first before you decide to ask for help.
Patience is a virtue. I bet your doll will become even more special if you know you worked veryhard for him. :)
I'm also currently saving up for a doll! :D My first doll, actually. My saving strategy right now, since I only have one bank account, is that I save beyond the actual price of my doll so I'll be able to have an emergency fund for later on.
I'm assuming you have two bank accounts since you have $300 in your ATM. I recommend that, if you're patient enough, leave that $300 alone. But, if not, only take a portion of it to speed up your saving. Don't take all of it because you'll never know when you'll need it :D
New plan...dheity_rigelJanuary 9 2007, 16:24:29 UTC
I have a habit of saving money. I have a health card in case of having health problems, I'm still living with my parents no problem with rents(as of now), I don't have any plans on buy a car... etc... I'm very practical in things that I should buy for myself... I always find the best but in cheaper price. I don't even buy Starbucks coffee!
I have a new plan. I'll use the my $300 and start saving again for the remaining amount. If there's an emergency I can sell my doll, but i'll surely hurts me if I do that.
