Short Week

The long weekend was great, but it really seems to have cut into my time to get stuff done during the work week (including posting this entry).  I am glad that it's Thursday though.  I am pretty tired and looking forward to another weekend.  Heh.  I never get sick of the weekends.  Here's what I've been up to over the past week:
  •
  •  This past weekend was pretty nice.  I didn't do much on Saturday.  I needed a day to be lazy around the house.  Sunday and Monday were a bit busier.  On Sunday, Steve and I went to the Topsfield Fair.  His Aunt Beth came with us too.  Sunday was a beautiful day so it seemed like everyone else in the area was taking advantage of it too.  Traffic getting into the fair was ridiculous.  I felt like I was bumping elbows constantly with people the whole time that we were there.  I am not much of a crowd person so that really turned me off.  Maybe if we had gone on a day where there were less people, I would have gotten a better impression.  Overall, I think the Big E in West Springfield is the best fair to go to hands down.  It probably doesn't help that it's the biggest fair in New England.  On the plus side, we saw a lot of cute baby animals at the Topsfield Fair.
  • Monday was Columbus day so I had the day off, but Steve didn't.  I also felt like I was coming down with a cold since I had a sore throat.  Unfortunately, we had already invited Steve's parents and Jack and Anina over for dinner that night so I needed to push myself to go shopping and help with the cooking/baking.  Dinner ended up coming out well.  We made pork along with homemade applesauce and the usual fixings.  I also tried out a dessert that my aunt made years ago, apple squares.  They came out really good and I am hoping to make them again for Thanksgiving.
  • Work has been busy as usual.  I had a frustrating day yesterday.  I had three IEP meetings scheduled for the day and two of the meetings had to be rescheduled because the parents did not show up.  It upsets me to see how parents do not take their children's education seriously, especially if they have special needs.  I just have to think about the good parents out there.  I meet with a lot of them too.
Not much else going on.  Happy almost Friday!
