Another Weekly Update

Jul 23, 2008 14:39

This week was a bit calmer than the past few weeks have been which was a good thing.  I needed some down time to get some of my summer objectives taken care of.  Things are coming along slowly, but it's better than nothing.  I have also determined that I have been getting too much sleep so I have decided to make sure that I am awake before Steve leaves for work in the morning.  So far it has been working out well, but then again, it's only been three days.  Here's my weekly happenings:
  • As I mentioned last week, Thursday was our fourth anniversary.  We didn't do too much because Steve had to work, but at least he was able to work from home.  He also bought me a dozen roses while I was out visiting my work friends.  We went out to eat at a restaurant called "George's" in Haverhill.  It had a nice, intimate atmosphere.  We had never been there before.  We will probably go back at some point, but probably not too often because the food was a bit on the expensive side.  We also got ice cream from England's Microcreamery across the street.  It sounded like it was going to be like Coldstone Creamery, but it wasn't quite as good.
  • Heather and I went up to York Beach on Friday.  We picked the perfect day to go up.  However, we hadn't realized that the tide was coming in instead of going out so we kept on having to move our stuff further back on the beach.  It was pretty amusing.  We also saw some people surfing while others were being called closer to shore by the lifeguard because of the riptide (due to the remnants of Hurricane Bertha).  By the end of the day, Heather and I both had some good color, but a little bit of pink in some areas that the spray-on stuff didn't cover.
  • Steve and I were supposed to go to the beach on Saturday (this time Salisbury Beach) with some friends.  We got lazy and decided not to go that morning.  It was probably for the best since I had more pink spots than I had realized and I don't think I needed any more sun at that point. We spent most of the day watching movies. We also went out to see "The Dark Knight" with Jack and Anina and some of their friends.  It was a fun movie, but I wouldn't say that it was one of my favorites or anything.  We also had dinner at Dylan's which was unusually quiet for a weekend night.
  • This week has been pretty quiet for the most part.  The crappy weather has kept me inside most of the time.  I am going out with my work friends to see "Mama Mia" tonight so that should be fun.  Nothing too exciting on the horizon, but sometimes spur-of-the-moment plans are the best ones.
