Today was actually worth two entries.
When I left my apartment after the mail arrived, I found a letter from USC in my mailbox. Shocking, considering I haven't heard anything from them since they told me my application was complete.
The letter was as follows:
Dear Ms. Kuechenmeister,
Greetings from the University of Southern California! We have reviewed your application for admission to graduate study, and are unable to proceed because of important items missing from your application file. These items are listed on the enclosed sheet. To expedite the process, if you have not already mailed them, do so within two weeks of receipt of this letter.
You may have already sent the indicated materials. Because of the high volume of materials received by the admission office and the fact that the missing items may have crossed in the mail with this letter, please allow at least ten days after the mail date before contacting USC to confirm receipt. If you have additional questions, please contact the Office of Admission... blah blah.
Hold on a second. Missing things?
Please reread the second sentence of this post. My application was completed.
Not only that - but they wait until April 26 to send me a letter regarding my missing Educational History - something that is assuredly contained within my application. This sounds like a case of "We lost it but won't admit it - oops."
It's well past the traditional deadline for all graduate decisions - and I've made one. Thanks, USC! I could have used this information THREE WEEKS AGO.
Not to mention that I sent the damn history.
