Last Sunday was my 26th birthday, and I'm starting to feel my age. Not in a "oh I'm so old, get me a walking stick" kinda way, but in a "I'm a grown up now" kinda way. Slowley but surely my life style has changed, as well as my wants and needs. For example, I always thought that the thought of a serious relationship would scare the crap out of me, but now I find myself not willing to settle for anything less, than I guy who wants the same thing. That one certantly took me by suprise.
I no longer want to go out every weekend, and frankly I enjoy my weekends of solitude in my very grown up apartment with its non-student like furniture. I will always be getting a new car, that will also be less student like. I enjoy my job, and unlike my last one, I don't mind working an hour or so overtime. I also feel like I'm doing something important for once. Its not my end goal when it comes to my career, but I'm enjoying the experience....and the money.
But back to my birthday, it was great. I went to dinner with my friends from uni who were doing honours and PHD's with me. It was great to catch up with them, I really missing seeing them everyday. On sat I went shopping with Kate and I brought some more clothes for work and a snazzy pair of runners. Sat night I went to a cheeky Tikki cocktail night at UWA and drank $5 cocktails. It a fun night of dancing, clothes pegging and drinks. Sunday I went to lunch with Mum, Dad and Kate and had the biggest bowl of muscles EVER. We came back to mine and had ice cream cake. My most awesome present, would of have to been my Indiana Jones Mr Potato head, that plays the theme song when you press its hat (it doesn't take much to make me happy). I played hockey and we drew, but then Claire had cake for me after the game, and as a present she gave me a Mellville scarf and beanie! She's so awesome. That night I have some mates over and we played wii and ate pizza. My friends brought me flowers, chocolates and more cake! it was really nice.
So thats another birthday over, and I think this weekend I will need some rest.
