This Scott Adams post is kind of depressing to me because it make me think about height in relation to success- again. Of course I've had the same thought before Scott said it, but only as an aside in my mind. I've had a lot of jobs in my time and no shortage of bosses.
Here are the (estimated) heights of the bosses I have had and their place of employment
Tom - IGA Grocery Store manager - 5'9"
Mike - IGA Grocery Store owner - 6'1"
Adam/Aaron - Kennedy Commons student supervisor - 6'0"
Jodi - OSU French and Italian Dept - 5'10"
Todd - The Laptop Guy - 5'11"
Tanya - The Laptop Guy - 6'0"
Kimberly - Honda of America - 5'10"
Mark - Honda (Kimbery's boss) - 6'4"
Oscar - TDCI, Inc - 5'10"
Dinesh - TDCI (Oscar's boss, CIO) - 5'9"
John - Diamond Innovations - 6'2"
Andy - Diamond Innovations - 6'0"
Dan - ULAR - 5'11"
Joe - Research Foundation - 6'2"
So there you have it. Most of my bosses are pushing 6' or over. The only ones who weren't were Tom (works as a grocery store manager, not that prestigious of a job), Oscar and Dinesh (both are certified geniuses very very smart people), Jodi and Kimberly (both tall for women). So what does this mean for me at 5'7" (5'8" on a good day!)? Guess I'm stuck in front of a PC hacking away for the rest of my life. I just wasn't genetically predisposed...
How tall are/were YOUR bosses?
