Student in my class: (Speaking of Sim City 2000 for some reason, to his friend) Did you know that if you use the centering tool and click on a helicopter multiple times you can make it crash and start a fire?
Nerd in my class: (Just overhearing) What's that?
Student: (repeats himself)
Nerd: Why don't you just play a shooting game and then you can shoot down things all the time (laughs)

Classic nerd reasoning. <3 CSE classes

Had a resume review this morning with the good folks down at the Engineering Career Services office. The lady who did the review me was very impressed with my resume, and did have some good pointers to make for improvements. Also, she was able the show me all the new features that the ECS web site has now that it didnt have before when I was searching for internships. I feel pretty good about job searching right now. Unfortunately, its almost as if there are TOO many jobs available. I don't know A) Where I want to work (City, State, or even country!) B) What I want to do in that job (programmer, tester, system admin, tech support) C) What sub-specialty I want to do in that job (Programmer - Java, C++, VB.NET, ASP.NET, web development, etc) Sigh... too many options!

Superbowl Sunday is upon us, and the outlook is less than super. Anyone want to get together for a pot-luck-ish thing somewhere or something... anything? More on football: The front page of today's Lantern talks about how Troy Smith and Ted Ginn, Jr. are really vying for a Cleveland Browns draft pick. Both have said that playing for the Cleveland Browns would be a "dream come true", and Smith has even gone so far as to wear a Cleveland Browns jacket at a recent OSU basketball game. While I welcome the prospect of the two former Clevelanders as Browns, we don't really need a QB or a WR in Cleveland, at least not unproven in the NFL out of the draft. One enticing prospect, however is the Smith to Ginn connection reuniting at the next level -- again -- as you will recall they went to the same high school as well.

I thought I had a free scheduled fitness test today at the RPAC, but it turns out it is actually scheduled for NEXT wednesday-- bah! Time for a regular workout today instead! Yesterday was really nice; there were very few people after about 1/2 hour so I was free to jump on whatever machine I desired. Hopefully today is the same, but I doubt it.

THE BIG TUNA!
