Are there any DGM rps/rpers around still?

Aug 10, 2013 08:50

So, after a ridic long hiatus from DGM, I'm jumping back in the fandom (though I admit a lot of the relatively 'newer' chapters make me scratch my head with a '... really? You're going there, Hoshino..?'). Anyway, point of this--are there any DGM rpers still around, or RPs, with players that are over 18 ( Read more... )

It's been a really long time since I've done RP - I had a lot of fun doing Edward Elric (skin_and_steel on ms_elegante) a few years ago, and I was sad to leave since school got in the way of me getting as involved as I would have liked. I'm not sure if the RP style is quite what you have in mind, but I think it could be a lotta fun. Just forgive me if I'm a bit rusty, or if your style (what a strange term for it, but there you go) and mine take a bit to mesh. |D

I've written fic in Allen's viewpoint (sorta - it was third person, but it was more of a psychological study), so I'm more familiar with the way his mind works. I think it'd be fun to dabble with RPing a Kanda, though I gotta say your Lavi also sounds really intriguing. Fucking Attack On Titan makes me want to write L-E-V-I instead of L-A-V-I, lol.

I'm transfixed by your icon. That's... just... glorious. *Stares forever*

Ahem, anyway, I would be more than happy to give it a go if you would be so kind as to indulge. :) I'm pretty open minded about stuff. I'm also quite rusty with RP as I haven't done it much over the past few years save for with my boyfriend and one of my besties, but I received an MFA in writing so I had some practice--I hope!

I'm very open minded. I've never done Kanda but would be interested in giving him a go, or if you do, just as well. :) And yeah, my Lavi... I fear he's borderline OOC, but some friends used to like him so hopefully that's not a bad thing! Everyone can do with crazy.

How do you like Attack on Titan? I haven't yet seen it.

Hahaha, the Earl has a way with his hands. I'll admit a huge part of snagging it is because it's just so smooth and fascinating to watch.

That would be awesome! I dunno, I've never seen how people do RP outside of the MS Elegante method, which was a mixture of third-person narration and first-person dialogue (since they often spoke through transmitters). I can't say that I'm familiar with anything other than just normal LJ-type stuff. That is to say, I don't think I would be able to do, like, AIM or something as some people seem to. Especially if we get to do plot-heavy stuff, I want time to consider the responses or get back with you regarding where we want it to go.

Oh mannnnn, Attack On Titan is fucking amazing. I thought it was overhyped until I saw it for myself. I've probably seen through it three times (once by myself, and then again each time I introduced someone else to it), and I'm working on the manga. It's wonderful.

How about this--how about we chat on AIM or Yahoo or something so we can sorta chat/brainstorm ideas/get to know people, then use something like LJ to do some RP? (I've got character journals that I'm sure I could recycle for some threads). Would that feasibly work?

And nhn, now I want to see Attack On Titan but of course I'm working overtime probably for the next few months without pause. Then again, very grateful for money! :)

That could work! :D I'll PM you my AIM and we'll work off of it from there. (Also, that one Allen Walker Must Die fic is pretty interesting so far. I have a soft spot for psychologically tormented heroes.)

I've just been watching it on Crunchyroll after work on Saturdays. Tell you what, that's sometimes the only thing that gets me through retail hell.

Oh my God, I can't believe people actually know our fic!!! Ban-chan and I are editing the whole thing (and finishing it) since there were a few issues we overlooked at the time. Still same level (if not more) of twistedness, but there are a few changes that (hopefully) will be for the better. Though uh. Guh. Thank you for the comment on AWMD T__T. That just made my day.

And I hear ya. I do customer service for an appliance repair center. It's insane how upset people get over their ice maker not making ice...

I look forward to your IM. :) Just let me know who you are when you do or I'll be scratching my head saying, "Uh. Who?" :P

To be fair, you did make a post on your LJ saying that "if I'm not reading it, I should". Well, I consider myself the considerate type so I figured I'd take a look! The characterization in there is pretty interesting, and it fleshes out their contrasting personalities nicely, especially that of Lavi's surprisingly paternal-brotherly manner in handling Allen's trauma.

(Sorry, that does sound creepy - I'm always curious about the types of people I meet on LJ so I almost always end up sneaking a peek).

I work at a home improvement store, so I end up getting people bitching about their... everything, really. Or being surprised at why we can't install a laminate floor in their house by Christmas.... and they're askin' me to do this on Christmas Eve.

Lol, well, that shows how dumb I am. Didn't even remember that I had that, and most of my posts are F-O so I guess that's one of the few that slipped the radar. Once we post up the revisions (from prologue on), I'll probably be making more of a deal since the revisions are boss. But... probably will be another few months (hopefully less) until we start posting since we kinda feel like dumbasses for the sporadic posts or whatever. Though I guess could do 1-2 updates/month...
