Is he really talking to himself...?

Well, there are plenty of us here. [the General obviously has escaped once more.]

General Daisya. It's so good to see you again! I'm glad to see that your health has improved somewhat.

As am I. So how are you doing?

I am in one piece, which is a truly fortunate outcome in a place like this... Did you know that Hevlaska has a chamber in the Dressing Room, and that the loose fragments of Innocence she keeps are sometimes compatible with the wayfarers here?

No, I didn't. But I heard you wondering about an Innocence, maybe I can help?

Ah, my good man, you mis-heard. I was looking for an Exorcist or a Noah, not Innocence itself... Though it's truly lucky that I ran into a General. I understand that you are entrusted to carry raw Innocence in your world?

I am. Did you find some?

Why yes, many months ago in fact! A Noah who had originally been an Exorcist used to be synchronized with the Dark Boots. The Innocence unexpectedly appeared here in the Dressing Room... on his feet! The poor sod was in agony until we managed to get them off him. I think he was so grateful to be relieved of pain that he didn't notice that I carried the Innocence away unharmed.

Noah typically destroy any Innocence they encounter, am I right?

Correct, because it causes them pain and they consider it to be 'evil'.

Truly regrettable. Innocence is a thing of beauty, particularly in elemental form...

I wonder, General, if it is also very UN-lucky that I've chanced to meet you just now, of all people I could have run into. You could probably make my life very difficult if you chose to do so.

I'd rather make everything easy on everyone. Something you need to get off your chest, Junior?

Not exactly my chest. I have a gift for Hevlaska, you see. More a returning of something which was borrowed. It would be very inconvenient for me to bring it to her in person, would be be a nice guy and make sure she gets it?

I shall. You decided the path of an Exorcist was not one you wanted to take?

[all smiles gone and Junior looks at the ground] I really wish I could...

[back to all-smiles] Fate, my good man. Fate, and the will of the Dressing Room, mixed with sheer luck. And all of these things have brought me here to you.

Hold out your hands? I'm not one for long goodbyes.
