[In one of the many gardens sits a Kanda, and in his lap is a wriggly black kitten that wants to plaaaaay and get into things. Kanda eventually lets him go, but he just settles for watching the kitten play instead of playing with it. His mind's most likely on something else

[Hopefully a puppy darting by with a ball in its mouth and a leash trailing after it won't startle Kanda and Akira too much.]

Monty! No! [Dirty Lavi following after. Sob. They've already been in mud today.]

[It won't startle Kanda much, but it will with poor Akira. H-Holding his kitten and glancing over.]

[Sorry kitty! ;;

Lavi finally catches up with the puppy and tackles him playfully, laughing.]

Caught you. [Though he does take care to put his arm through the end of the leash this time, the loop letting it go up to his elbow. It's then that Lavi looks up at Kanda and a startled/scared look briefly hits him. Sl-slowly inclining his head, hi.]

[Gives a small wave, glancing down at Monty curiously.]

[Lavi is sitting in the grass himself with Monty in his arms, looking down at the Newfoundland pup.]

Mo-Monty. [Scratching his ears.]

[Nods and takes a stick to write out Akira's name, since he doesn't know if this Lavi knows sign language or not.]

[Lavi is a little far away to read it so he has to get to his feet, growing puppy in arms as he wanders over. But still he keeps an unusual amount of distance between them and not for the animals' sake. Pe-peering and reading.]

H-he's cute. [Lavi does. He's just...skittish.]

[Nods. He notices, but doesn't say anything about it. He doesn't want to be too rude.

Also letting Akira out of his lap when he starts to wriggle a bit. Curious kitten is curious about Lavi.]

[It's alright, he's a Bookman apprentice after all. Even if he is jumpy around people he doesn't know.

Lavi grins a little at the kitten but Monty hasn't met a cat yet. He's scrambling to get down to be curious too.]

[Can't help but smile weakly at Monty's eagerness to get down. It makes him wonder if his Lavi would want a little puppy like that.]

[Monty is already a big puppy, even for 20 weeks. Game would prefer a lab or retriever, not a small horse that Newfoundlands tend to become. Lavi slowly kneels down, putting Monty down but keeping a short hold on his leash.]

Stay. Let the kitten come to you. You're scary, boy.

[Ruffles the dog's ears, having somewhat forgot Kanda is here for the moment. Animals sooth his jittery nerves.

But we have nose touch!]

[He figures. Game's seemed more attached to those types of dogs, Kanda's noticed.

Kanda is...definitely smiling as he's watching. Akira meanwhile will just paw at Monty's nose too.]

[They're just his type of dog. 8D;

Monty snorts and paws near the kitten but doesn't touch Akira. Lavi loosens up on the hold he has on Monty's leash and reaches out to scritch the kitten's ears.]

Hey there...

[It'll be his Christmas present~

Akira gives a purr at that and just leans into it.]

Lavi laughs softly and keeps scratching as Monty's tail wags and he gets up to sniff at the kitten. That done he'll pad over to Kanda to sniff at as well. Lavi looks up.]

H-he won't bi-bite. He's ni-nice.

[Ohai big dog. Blinks at Monty before lifting a hand to pet him.]
