[it's been hard for Lavi to really go out much since his experience with Cyril - the effects of that are long-lasting and even now he finds it difficult to be around people too much. But he's trying hard to get past that - and today, there's a couple of people he really wants to find

[Yanno, if Lavi was thinking straight, he would remember that Silent is not a fan of phsyical contact. That Silent did not like surprises, sudden noises, or anything of the sort]

[But Lavi has not seen Silent for so long. Almost two months to be exact. And he has been so worried. So very very worried. So against his better judgement (or any judgement at all really), he's going to wrap his arms around him in a clinging, desperate hug]

You're back...

[write_silence]

[That first moment of contact, the surprise and shock of being hugged so suddenly, with no warning - it makes Lavi stiffen and make a small sound of panic, eye wide and heart racing, instantly in 'flight' mode.]

[But then he calms down a little and realizes who it is... and there's the sound of his notepad and pen hitting the floor as he hugs Lavi back just as tightly as he's being hugged, resting his forehead on his friend's shoulder and trembling just a little with relief and adrenaline.]

[Gently patting him on the back as he tries to tug him closer. Oh, Silent, he was worried. So very very worried about you]

I'm sorry... I'm sorry that I didn't find you sooner.

[write_silence]

[Just shakes his head and clings tighter. He doesn't want to pull away to sign right now - there's time enough later to tell Lavi it's not his fault, that he'd been hiding, that he'd been terrified to see anyone but all this time he'd been thinking of him. Right now he just wants to stay like this for a while.]

[Lavi will hold Silent until the shaking stops. Until he finds his breath again. Until the beating of his heart is back to the calm (if a bit worried) pitter patter that it always is]

Did they find you?

[No need to directly say who 'they' are, is there? But there had been a lot of Noah moving about at that time. He really hoped he hadn't run into one of the more nasty ones. Though truth be told, they were all pretty horrible]

[Lavi just nods. He still feels a little numb with pain and shock when he thinks about his encounter with Cyril and the subsequent time spent locked away to keep anyone but himself from hearing the sound of his voice]

[Nods again. Yes or no question, yeah, that seemed the best way to approach things right now. So that he wouldn't have to let go of Silent or Silent wouldn't have to let go of him in order to communicate]

Are you injured? To the point where we should go to the clinic?

[write_silence]

[this time it's a shake of the head. He was never physically injured - part of him thinks it would have been easier to handle if he had been, but what's done is done. He's glad, though, for the questions that mean he doesn't have to move away - this is something he really, really needs]

Do you want to go back to your study?

[write_silence]

[another nod. As long as Lavi comes with him ;;]

[Of course. Lavi isn't going to let Silent out of his sight for the rest of the day]

Okay. But we could always go somewhere different if you like. Your room. A nice courtyard. Someplace that has some good memories for you.

[But he starts leading him in the direction of his study anyway]

[thinking about that, he grabs Lavi's hand partway there and tugs him gently in a different direction - to his room, a cozy little one that has become his safe place. It's quite small, and the way it's decorated - lots of comfortable furniture, lots of soft things - make it seem like a den or a burrow. He's never brought anyone here before, but...]

[Follows with a raised eyebrow, but he won't say anything. He wants to go somewhere where Silent is comfortable and feels safe. And after he's settled in, he can start asking him about what happened]

[write_silence]

[once they're inside with the door securely closed behind them, he relaxes visibly and waits for Lavi to look around and settle in before moving to settle down himself, still wanting to stay close to his friend]

Is this your place?

[Leading Silent over to the couch and wrapping him in pillows and blankets and all the things to make him warm and cozy]

I can make you something to drink, yeah. What would you like? Tea? Coffee? Cocoa?

[smiles up at him] Whatever you want to have is fine. [he'd object, offer to make it himself, but he can see that look in Lavi's eye that speaks of needing to just do something to make himself useful, and he understands it]
