[For all those interested, that project from a few days ago is finally done. Kanda has managed to transform one of the kitchens into a small cafe-- a quiet, quaint thing with soft green walls, deep red trim, and plants just about everywhere (courtesy of one of the Allens). There's a framed menu of sorts on the wall-- it's more a recommended list of

[Just standing outside of the cafe, really. Reading the menu with his two cats in his arms, the bigger one protests so he puts her down and holds the kitten close. She'll stay close to him anyway, always has.]

[Kanda's busy cooking, but whatever he's making smells absolutely delicious. It smells toasty, warm, and just a little bit spicy. Wonder what it could be.]

[Sob. After hardly eating anything for the past two days - they just got shoved into Wonderland - Lavi's stomach is growling and Autumn is pawing at his leg.]

I know... I just hope you two don't get me kicked out... [Taking a few steps into the cafe, looking around.]

[toomanypetals]

[Kanda looks up at them and raises an eyebrow.]

Keep 'em to the back and out of the way.

[Don't worry too much. He's one of those that feeds all the strays in town.]

[He blinks and looks at Kanda.] Alright... [Honestly a little surprised, but he moves to the back of the cafe to a corner table, one that he would have chosen anyway. Nami gets settled in a ball on his lap while Autumn does the same near his feet.]

What d'you want? And what do they want? Normal cats?

[He can never be sure.]

[historyrabbit]

Whatever you're cooking right now smells really good. [And there goes that stomach growl again with a slight blush of embarrassment from Lavi.]

Any chicken or turkey they could eat? [Nodding at the second question, normal cats. But he doesn't get them milk often and usually they eat cat food.]

[Kanda pours something into a bowl and comes over, placing a bowl of stew, fresh baked bread, and a spoon in front of Lavi, and a plate of lightly spiced ground turkey before the cats.]

[It's all excellent, by the way.]

Hn. Didn't peg you for a catman.

[historyrabbit]

[God, the bread smells so good. Picking that up first while Nami jumps off his lap to join the older cat. Trying to be polite, though and wait until he's finished talking before eating.]

I'm not really, Autumn found me in Venice after I was killed and Nami was a friend's that left.

I see.

[Well, that's alright then.]

It all smells really good, Yu. You cook all this by yourself again? [Biting the bread while he has a chance to eat. ;;]

Of course. I don't trust anybody in the kitchen while I'm working.

[historyrabbit]

Just don't let me help, yeah? [Trying some of the stew now, dipping his bread into it.] I kind of don't mix well with kitchens.

[As expected, it tastes better than it smells.]

Doesn't surprise me.

[historyrabbit]

[Pouts around the spoon that found its way into his mouth after trying it.] It's not my fault. It just happens.

Hn. Just stay out of the kitchen, alright. I have it covered.
