[There's an Allen in a room filled with instruments, and he's just looking at a few with longing.

He carefully touches one of the flutes, a cello, and even a harmonica. Though, Allen soon pulls his hand away as he sighs, looking at them all before glancing over at the piano that's up against the wall. After a moment, he rubs the back of his head.]

I like them all, so it's hard to choose.

That would make it worse, wouldn't it? [ takes a few steps into the room, looking around ] Well... depending on how good your left hand is, string instruments might be harder to learn. I really like the piano, myself, but all instruments are beautiful in their own way.

I'd rather avoid playing the piano if I can. [Sends it a small glance.]

[ nods ] Understandable. Well... if these instruments don't belong to anyone, what's the harm in trying several different ones until you find one that feels right?

That's true, I'm just not sure which one to start with first.

Well... how about the flute?

Suppose it wouldn't hurt. [Walks over to pick up the flute.]

[ goes to sit on the piano bench and watch, figuring Allen will let him know if he doesn't want company ]

[Gonna start playing the flute now. His playing is actually not that bad.]

[ listening quietly, actually pretty impressed ]

[Stops after a while.] What did you think?

Have you played a flute before? [ tilting his head a little, curious ]

No, I haven't. I've only played leaf whistles before, really.

[ smiles ] Definitely natural talent, then. I'm hardly an expert, but I think that was really very good for your first time.
